    Are most of the machines the same? Of so, set one up properly and make an image of the hard drive with Ghost or a similar program. At least then you'll have an easy way to restore it when they mess it up.

    If the computer is powerful enough you could install a copy of VMWare Server or VMWare Player with an Ubuntu image. Then they could play with it if they are interested. Or you might be able to convince them to use it for browsing the internet so they can avoid spyware.

    I think it's a sign that the developers in Microsoft are being more open. I don't know for sure, but I'm guessing they've always wanted to be more open, but were prevented by upper management. But now they have blogs, videos (channel 9) and more (coding4fun). And I'm guessing it was the developers who pushed for the express editions to be free.
