Naturally, The Sixth Day has a Hollywood ending. Schwarzenegger raises the questions, but doesn't know what to do with them, so he ends
up ducking the issue in hokey fashion.
Perhaps you didn't pick up on the ending. The version of Arnold followed through most of the movie is actually the clone. I believe he eventually realizes he is the clone, nevertheless he tricks the real guy into leaving his family and heading off to Brazil or wherever.
Am I wrong?

One may also wish to take note that before Europeans came to Tasmania, the island was populated by Tasmanian aborigines. Those Tasmanians were subsequently the victims of perhaps the only known 100% successful (successful?) genocide. If only we could bring them back too...
I think the BBC article was mistaken. All replicants were illegal, and there were six illegal replicants Deckard was supposed to kill. (Well, actually only 5 since one "got fried" before Deckard is brought in.) However, only 5 "made their way to Earth". The sixth replicant was Rachel. Deckard was slightly surprised (and miffed) when he was told to retire her because he had previously been told he only had to kill the 4 renegades.
Way to go. As if our community didn't already have a great reputation of respect for the rule of law. PR is important. You would think paid Linux evangelists (our PR guys) would set a better example by encouraging respect for the law instead of encouraging its subversion.

Make sure make sure you say that you are violating someone's civil rights by not allowing them to view pr0n from your business's equipment.
"By God, I won't stand for it! Save the wide open beavers! Nuke the jr highers!"

I'm happy for all the Chinese people this will help, but what about me?
Heck, if we had open-sourced AI candidates, at least we would know what we were getting.
