I'd love to try it but I'm still waiting for my activation email from codemasters. Registered yesterday and have asked for it to be resent but so far no luck. First impression... not good.

They're airing on sky one (uk). "The quest part 2" (ep 11) and a "line in the sand" (12) have already been shown. Atlantis has been airing in Canada.

Both series have been pretty good so far except I didn't get the very end of Sunday first time (******spoiler******: I wondered if he ascended first time I watched it).

Either Zonk is deliberately talking bollocks to stir up a fight or he is just an idiot. I did not read past the abstract because it was completely stupid. The game is so bad it is good? Nay, a masterpiece? Such a game can become a classic everyone will remember because it sucks, but it will never be a masterpiece in a the sense it was amazing which is what he says. Daft edjit! This place has gone down hill even since I got here and most of it over the past while has been crap like this! Pisspot poor editing, article trolling and generally crap antics by Zonk.

Any Briton who doesn't know they get ripped off like this regularly is a moron. Most people realise this when it comes to cars, it shouldn't be so suprising for other stuff. We get ripped off all the friggin' time!

Yep, all the pro Wii anti Sony crap Zonk posts is getting annoying. I don't even want a PS3, I'll buy a Wii if I decide to have the cash. Sure sony keep digging a hole, but how many anti sony stories have been posted in the past day/week? Too many.

Spoiler: (a depressed fat) Lee Adama will take the second battlestar and the ships to search for Earth. They will not be part of the fight. Just the Gallatica. It was a big part of Exodus part 1, Apollo resolving stuff with his father and maybe getting back to his old self. That is unless they bring it back to save the day.

I agree it's more like a drama. Lots of interesting stuff will happen in the next few episodes. Giaus time is running out. It's going to be interesting to see what happens and maybe we'll find out why six is in his head and he in hers. It would be too predictable if he was a cylon. I also wonder what Odama means in the clips when he says he started it. Will be interesting.

I would like to know what AMD are planning to do about their supply problem. Giving most of there chips to Dell and shafting everyone else is not a good way to keep interest in your product. Will they be able to use ATI resources to help up supply or do they have more capacity coming online?

  8. Re:Today's Philosphical question... on Ever-Happy Mouse Sheds Light on Depression · · Score: 1

In my case anti-depressant drugs help and don't to varying degrees. The depression is still there, along with all the symptoms like poor memory and concentration, poor reading, apathy, tiredness, lack of motivation, etc. The drugs only relieve it a bit although it's hard to put into words all the ways they do. Sometimes they don't really help though.

When I was on 3 times the dose as currently a few years ago, they helped alot for quite a while. As I recall I was doing stuff to get over my social anxiety (AvP). The drug helped stabilise my mood and I managed to get on with life and make positive changes. When things became stressful towards the end of Uni everything vaped. Quite spectacularly so. I ended up worse than I was before. The drugs only helped when the stress was low, as stress increased I dropped faster than a lead balloon.

The dose was lowered to 150mg since the AD is linked to high blood pressure, I was half asleep almost all the time. When the dose was lowered to 75mg* I felt better and more alert than at 150, about the same as at 225. The difference is my mood is a lot more volatile and fickle. I put up with this because at 150 I couldn't do anything. For 6 months I played WoW getting fat, only casually aware of reality. I could not program, could not write, could not motivate myself to find a job. Those things are not easy now, they're hard but not impossibly so. I took up EVE Online, and although I think it's atleast as enjoyable as WoW, I can't stand the thought of being absorbed in the same way with WoW as before - no must play even if completely friggin' bored feelings. Memory is slightly improved, appetite is more appropriate, can code now, etc.

The thing is now I can code and think(!) I am a lot happier when I do. Can't maintain it all the time, but can work at it which is better than being a (fat) zombie. What I'm trying to say is the drugs have good sides and bad sides, having both helped and hindered me. They're no panacea, but they're better than the alternative (for me atleast).

    * Strangely, I'd been on that dosage before and didn't feel like this. It didn't do anything other than make my hands sweat (an annoying side effect).

You're right. Everyone wants to be funding the next google and is going to be suckered with this Web 2.0. Hopefully it won't happen but this hole buzz stinks of another bubble beginning to expand quickly, sucking the whole industry into it before finally exploding with a lot of people holding a turkey at the end of it. The technology and social aspects have their uses, but it's more evolutionary than revolutionary and should be used as such.
