1. Remember, Satan never doubted God's power, but rather his right to rule. Imagine if after the rebellion, God just killed Satan, Adam, and Eve. Ok, problem solved? Not really, Satan raised some questions that WOULD NOT BE ANSWERED by simply killing all involved parties. People underestimate God's sense of Justice. It is one of his cardinal attributes, which is rather comforting, considering that God is all powerful. I'm sure you would rather have the type of power controlled by an amazing sense of justice.
2. Remember first off, Jesus wasn't an unwilling party. He wanted to do this for his Father. He was the one who offered to do it. Any perfect angel would have done the trick, and satisfied God's sense of justice, but this shows how close the relationship was between God and Jesus.
3. Insurance companies call them acts of God. Are you going to trust insurance companies to tell you what God does and doesn't do? Part of the issue was that Satan said Men could live without God. Earthquakes and by extension Tsunamis are a natural occurrence on this planet. If humans can take care of themselves, they should be able to stop them. But they can't. If we never rejected the guidance of God, then these things wouldn't be a problem because God would protect us from them. God doesn't directly cause the earthquakes and tsunamis, just like he doesn't kill children to have another angel, but if we want to live free of him, then why would he protect us from them? The food issue is pretty much the same. Why are people dying of starvation? Because the Earth not being able to produce enough food, or because of human greed? If you look at the container ships over in Africa full of rotting food, staying there because the governments can't get any money for it from an impoverished nation. Why would this be God's fault?
4. An experiment is a faulty illustration. Remember, as you mentioned before, God is omniscient, so why would he need to experiment? This whole situation is for us humans to be able to grasp the truth, and see why we need God. This is to show us the futility of living outside of God's Guidance and Direction. Sending down angels and Jesus was also FOR OUR BENEFIT.
5. Again, this isn't an experiment. Satan is trying to get all humankind to stop listening to God. He will do everything in his power to stop anyone from trying to worship God. Thats another reason why God sends down angels, to protect those who are trying their best to worship Him.
6. I think you might be referring Hell Fire. Immortality of the Soul is actually a concept that Satan perpetuated right in Genesis. Remember, he told Eve "You positively will NOT die". That idea really took root in Ancient Babylon. Ecclesiastes 9:5 says that the living are conscious that they will die, but the dead are conscious of nothing at all. You don't have an immortal soul. When you die, you simply cease to exist. There goes the theory of Hellfire. Too bad for all those religions that make billions off of that theory. Really, the wages sin pays are death. God has promised that he will empty the tombs after Armageddon. At that point, people who never had a chance to know God, will be given the chance. Really, the only ones who will be "punished" will be those who willingly and knowingly rejected God's authority.
7. That temptation was a was for Adam and Eve to prove that they wanted to serve and be loyal to God. God created all things, so it only makes sense that he calls for such reverence. But God doesn't get anything from that reverence. He doesn't need it. Rather, its for our own good, so that we stay close to him, listen to him, and benefit from a relationship with him. Loyalty is like a check, its no good until you cash it...
John 3:16 For God loved the world so much that he gave his only-begotten Son, in order that everyone exercising faith in him might not be destroyed but have everlasting life.
One perfect man (Adam) sinned and passed that sin onto all human kind.
One perfect man (Jesus) died without sinning, and canceled out that debt.
Gods perfect sense of justice forced him to make such a sacrifice for all humankind.
Looking at it that way, doesn't option B sound more likely??
Ok, you're missing a HUGE issue. Hopefully, I can clear somethings up for you, otherwise, you can just ignore me.
You have to realize, that right now there are two BIG issues on the line here on Earth, being worked out.
1. Genesis chapter 3. Satan raised two questions regarding God. First, that God was lying to Adam and Eve about them dying after they ate of the tree of Good and Bad. Second, that he was withholding something good from Adam and Eve.
2. In Job chapter 1, Satan asserted that humans would only serve God for what they got out of him, and for no other reason.
God decided to let this course run, to show how humans would fare without his direct involvement. Things got so bad, that he had to bring the deluge upon mankind. He has since allowed humans to try many many different types of self rule. This has clearly shown (at least to me) that humans don't have the ability to govern themselves! Jeremiah 10:23 "Man cannot cannot direct his own step". Despite all the medical and technical advances, have we really made life better? Ask yourself, how many people go to bed hungry, how many people don't know if they can protect their family from the next band of rebels. This situation on this Earth is terrible, and if you deny that, you are putting too much trust in the media to keep you informed.
Wrap your "rational thought" around that? The end of this system is near. Please don't write my thoughts off as some zealot. Why else do you think I wouldn't post this Anonymously?
the man who keeps his urges sated with mere pictures
Unless you are talking about animation, there is no such thing as a "mere picture".
There is still an Adult and a Child involved in some sort of activity that takes gross advantage of a minor.
If you take that into account, the difference between a Pederast and a Pedophile becomes indistinguishable.
Am I correct in thinking that you would rather see this Judge go free for having Child Porn?
We should be counting our lucky stars that a guy with such power is no longer in a position that he can continue perpetuating such an irreprehensible habit, not debating whether the evidence is admissible.
When does the ends justify the means? When a perv like this guy is no longer able to take advantage of kids.
Different engines react differently to E85. Saab has a 9-5 series car with a turbo that runs differently depending on what fuel is used. With regular Gas, it runs the turbo at around 9 Pounds (if memory serves), but with E85, which has a 105 octane rating, it bumps the PSI to 17-18. The performance numbers are not too shabby. The problem happens when you have these "Flex Fuel" cars that will run both, without changing any parameters. Right now, they are probably statically tuned to get more out of Gas, and not so much E85 (I can't back that statement up). But consider that the octane rating of regular unleaded is around 89. Timing becomes critical depending on the octane rating (the more octane, the more aggressively you can set your timing) and you are bound to have the type of performance degradation you were talking about.
Feel free to rip this unsubstantiated post apart! =)
Amazing... And you have had all that time to come up with something useful to add to this conversation, and yet all you can say is "Oh yeah, I heard this already..."
Actually, this is good time to point something out that many here might not understand. When you are referring to Evolution as a fact, I think you mean Adaptation. These are two different things. You will get very little (intelligent) argument when saying that adaptation is a fact. It is common knowledge that species will change to suit their environment. Its how we get so many different (and useful) dog breeds, types of finches (Darwin's Finches), etc, etc, etc. Adaptation is not incongruous with belief in creation (Mind you, I'm not talking about the 6 day version roughly 6,000 years ago, the use of the word "Day" in the bible refers more to time periods, and NOT 24 hour cycles of time, but thats an entirely different discussion).
The biggest issue some people take with evolution is the beginning. Proteins floating around, meshing together, and BOOM, you have life, and through it, all life now on Earth.
So when you say that evolution is a fact, either you are wrong, or you are talking about adaptation.
Adaptation is a verifiable fact.
Scientist have YET to create life by meshing proteins together and making a cell, or anything else that resembles life. Until they do that, Evolution will continue to be a Theory.
I definitely don't want to start a flame war, but yours is a comment I really want to address. From the time the thunderbird came out, no matter what the performance benchmarks say, I have ALWAYS found AMD to be the more responsive chip. I have dealt with many different iterations of the P4 and the XP/64 series, and with intel, I'm always banging my head on the desk. With AMD, my stuff just gets done quicker. Who knows. Just my 2 cents.
The statement that the Bible is full of contradictions is the same as the comment that the Muslim religion is warlike; both statements are stated as fact, but in fact were overheard, matched what the hearer wanted to hear, and thus became fact to them. If someone read the bible with the intent of disproving it, they will not have a hard time. However, someone with sincerity of heart, who wants to learn from God, WILL get to know him. Jesus recognized this when he praised God for hiding the truth from the Intelligent ones and revealing them to babes. This is why I'm not shocked to read posts such as yours.
Progressive Christian is a believer in one God - three persons
Interestingly, the trinity is actually an idea that originated in Ancient Babylon, not Judah. Also, first century Christians, (oh yeah, the ones taught by Jesus himself) did not believe in the idea of a triune god.

I have found the biggest issue with RX sunglasses is that the frame and the lense don't match up. This causes many problems down the road. I have had two pair of RX rayban's and both are pretty much junk. My plastic pair had no constitution, and would stretch out and fall off my face. The metal ones just fell apart after about 3 months of use(the lenses would fall out, I would put them back in, etc).
With contacts you can get a pair of sunglasses with lenses that were meant for the frame.
I don't hold my experience against Rayban, as I'm sure there were other factors that lead up their failure...
P.S. Contacts usually end up being cheaper than glasses in the long run. You can get about 6 months worth of 2 Week Lenses for about $40-US. They also have them for astigmatism, and are incredibly comfortable. Also, driving at night, you have NO GLARE!!
In working for a doctors office, I was all ready to set them up with a better switch (they are running netgear now) and a couple other high tech solutions... Until I thought about it a bit more, and realized that they are fine.
What might be a better idea is to leave them where they are, and pick away at a new solution that might involve MPEG and CRON and linux stuff, but only for the day that all of the stuff they are using now is broke.
Taking your time might also mean some other solutions present themselves while you wait (Like used equipment from a slightly higher powered station upgrading all its tech bits).
Heck! Why not have a show devoted to developing a new setup for the station. Get the fans of the station involved. Now thats using Open Source!
First off, I'm sorry if I came off as trying to be superior. I'm not (I'm sure you will agree with that).
Again, all I'm trying to point out, is for us in the/. commumity to admit that there could be some harm to playing violent video games.
There is a proverb that stated "God is against the one shedding innocent blood, and the one loving violence, his soul certainly hates"
That is a fundamental point that might be falling on deaf ears here, but it groups those who would commit violent acts, and those who don't mind watching them, and find entertainment value in them.
Trust me, I DON'T want to start a fundamentalist thread here by stating that, but it is an interesting statment....
I'll Answer your questions one at a time...
