Because the Moon landing was faked! Although the space technology is probably much more advanced today than in the 60's, it's still impossible to go to the moon. Besides, years of movies packed special effects made the regular eye much more difficult to fool. NASA just don't can't fit the special effects fees in their budget right now to fake it again.
At least that's what that taxi driver told me. Ask him for more details. What's his name again? Oh, I remember now, it's Jerry Fletcher.
Same happened to me when I showed my Intellivision to a neighbour in 1983. I had just moved to a countryside city where no videogame had been seen since then.
We don't have to worry... in less than 50 years cell phones and watches will have Geiger counters in it...
Like Doc Brown said in Back to the Future, "I'm sure in 1985 plutonium is available at every corner drugstore, but in 1955 it's a little hard to come by."
Americans love to do that: have the same idea someone has already had (years before, most of times) and tell the world it was their idea so many times until most of people think it's true... take the airplane as an example. (And they say "no matter how many times you tell a lie, it won't become true"... HA!)
Maybe it's just me but I'm having trouble parsing the headline.
No, it is not just you... I thought it was just me too, but that's because english isn't my first language. Actually, it's my third language. Almost fourth.
I know that, I grew up in Brazil, I know some brazilian history. I meant that Brazil and France have never engaged in a war *against each other* (maybe my knowleged in history is better than my english).
Anyway, a point in favor of the french is that Brazil got its independence by the hands of Dom Pedro I (a portuguese prince), whose family (the Royal Portuguese Family) was fleeing from nothing less than the French. Napoleon, if I'm not mistaken.
I've been to London last year and spent 5 days there. I walked more than my feet could take. Specially because in the first 3 days I was there the nearest Underground station from the hotel was closed due maintenance (or something like that) and I had to walk about 20 minutes to get to the next station. No sweat, since I was using a tourist ticked which would allow me get in only after 9 AM.
Anyway, I was impressed by how many people I could see walking and taking public transportation. There were much fewer cars I would expect in a city with that many people living in it.
That's why I love european cities. Even in cities where there is no subway you can find good public transportation (if everyone here ever been to Palma de Mallorca in Spain know what I'm talking about). Sure, there are exceptions, but in a general way it's good.
One thing that the pros understand, that lay people often haven't learned, is that it's not necessary to get every potential customer to be a success. This is why that Kenneth Cole shirt costs $150, when they could probably sell it for $20 and make a profit. The secret is to find the optimum price point on the supply/demand curve (if a market has perfect elasticity, that curve would be a straight line at a 45 degree angle... but almost no industry is like that). So BMG doesn't sell you many CDs, and Kenneth Cole probably doesn't sell you many shirts, either. My guess is that both of them are fine with this.
Oh, my god, I've been left out of the consuming chain because I don't like being ripped off! I think I should go to a McDonald's for some comfort food...
Taking the chances of having my post deleted or modded way down, here goes the configuration! I'm posting only the video configuration, the audio and CD-ROM configuration are the default internal plugins that goes with ePSXe. Enjoy!
By the way, I don't know if the disk changing will work, I still haven't reached this point of the game.

It's just a matter of setting up the emulator properly. Chrono Cross is my favorite PS1 game and last night I decided to play it again. It took me about 2 hours to find the correct setup (specially because ePSXe doesn't let you change the settings after you start the game, which means you have to close it, open again, change the setup, wash, rinse, repeat), but it was worth it.
I even got it working in ePSXe 1.6, when most emulations forums say only ePSXe 1.5.2 can run Chrono Cross!
Anyway, if somebody need the setup information for Chrono Cross to run well in ePSXe 1.6, I can give it.
...I can have all the PS3 Sony can pry INTO my cold dead hands.

And also to bring freedom and democracy to the Moon, before the terrorists get there. Unfortunatelly, no mexicans will be allowed there. Sorry!

No, RTFA! It's "DOPA"!

Intel CoreTwin 2 Duo Pair, Mark Two!
Nice name, very marketable, but... how many cores does it have?
Sure! I'm a geek!

Please, add orkut.com to this list!!
It doesn't need diapers and doesn't cry during the night. Put a second arm on it and tell me when it hits the market, I'm buying one!

Who hasn't defeated France?
I believe Brazil has never defeated France. Well, does it matter the fact they never engaged in a war?

I'm not sure why this is linked via digg.
;-)
Maybe Zonk is trying to get Digg slashdotted...
Why to you english-speaking people write Gitmo instead of Guantánamo? Really, that's not a rethorical question, I really want to know.
in http://www.milliondollarhomepage.com/ you can see thousands of pixels and until some time ago you could even own some!
And also *poof* us, since we are in the way and much, much closer...
Easy, little fellow... Futurama is over, unfortunatelly...

How come the headline isn't "Sony announces a PSOne killer"?
Slashdot is losing its traditions...
