  1. I was a HTML code monkey too on What Do You Call People Who "Do HTML"? · · Score: 2, Informative

I was a HTML code monkey in high school and college. My official job title was Web Production Artist at my main job. When I did some code monkey contracting on the side I was simply called a HTML Developer.

  2. Re:Soon to be worthless on How a Rogue Geologist Discovered Diamonds · · Score: 2, Insightful

Funny, because I've already told my boyfriend I'd prefer a moissanite stone if he ever proposes. I think I'd be more upset that he threw his money away on a diamond. (Before anyone says it, yes.. a girl on slashdot!)

  3. Re:Scratchcard are fine on Sony's Idea of DRM-Free Music · · Score: 1

And iTunes gift cards are an even better choice for most kids. They work more seamlessly with iPods (which is mainly what kids have), and you get a better value for your money. And you get more choices than Barry Manilow and Britney Spears..

  4. Re:Are There Any Honest Companies Left? on Federal Prosecutors Launch Probe of Dell · · Score: 1

This is off topic but every Samsung LCD I've ever used has been amazing. Expensive, but great.

  5. Who cares about RAM anymore? on A Browser War Preview · · Score: 1

I use all three browsers on occasion, with Firefox being my favorite.

Sure, the interface and speed of Opera are great. And the plugins and widgets are neat. But Firefox has EVERY extension I could possibly want, and I really see no need to switch. This is the single reason I stick with firefox. My system has 512 MB of RAM, which isn't all that much these days, but I can run Firefox along with several other programs and my computer flies. So memory usage isn't a dealbreaker either.

To each his/her own, I guess.

  6. Re:I'd settle for better basic functions on Super-ATMs Being Rolled Out · · Score: 1

Bank of America also offers a feature like that.

  7. Another girl geek over here on Gender Gap in Computer Science Growing · · Score: 3, Interesting

While I'm not a computer science student, I am majoring in Information Systems which faces the same gender gap. I'm actually in a scholarship program called Center for Women and Information Technology. I can definitely see why there's a gender gap. I'm doubted ALL the time by guys who think they're geekier/better programmers/whatever. I'm often the ONLY girl or one of very few in my classes. I can see how that could be intimidating for some people, however for me, it's just more incentive to kick ass in my classes.
