    Not sure if it is day 1 but watch out for "The Witcher 3" DLCs. They are going to mock larger companies by giving you their DLCs for free, well if you purchase the game. No need to preorder, just buy it.

    Review embargo yes but not until after the release of the game.
    This is usually reserved for the real shitty games. The ones that are hyped to no end but ultimately fail to deliver.

    Not only that. Yahoo is one of those providers that will silently drop messages. My server receives an "OK" but the message never makes it to the inbox - puff - gone.

    Only happens with Yahoo.

    I always ask myself how I could possibly survive with only 1.2MB/s down (basic DSL). Then I turn my Internet TV on and notice that it works just fine.

    Sure I can get fiber but why would I? I'd have to pay more for no benefit other then that I can download a 20-40GB game quicker.

    Not an issue with new stuff but I do have an issue with new features that makes things harder to use/debug.
    I don't care about this on my laptop but I will switch to a server focused distro when I rebuild my cluster in a year.

    This is why I really like Linux. Once you know Linux you can select a distribution based on features, not because it is hip.

    You can torrent on shared connections and even wifi. You just can't be a greedy asshole about it and allow your torrent client to use as many connections as possible.

    Limit connections to ~20-80, max download 70% line capacity, max upload at 50% capacity.

    Done.

    My servers limit connections on port 22 to the IP-range of my ISP and my static IP from work.

    Zero unauthorized login attempts over SSH for the past years.

    Nevertheless, Apple assures its Chinese users that their personal data on China Telecom is encrypted and that the encryption keys will be stored offshore.

    So the keys are only stored back at the headquarter in the USA?

    The place where a "judge" can order any company to deliver the customer's data to the state?
    Data of users who may not be citizens of the USA and even data that is stored on foreign soil.

    True but these people in government are directly responsible for wasting the taxpayers money. Their incompetence costs any of us dearly.

    I recently quit my cushy government job because I don't want to be part of the problem anymore. These people are so stuck in their ways that they are not interested in saving money or improving things.

    I have had a few government jobs in the USA and Germany and the one thing I noticed is that the same lazy people hold the same positions. Only the name of the country changes.....

    It used to be legal to purchase cannabis seeds in Germany because they do not contain THC. As far as I know, it is still like this in the UK and Spain.

    Austria is also very funny when it comes to the "evil plant". One may purchase cannabis clones and keep them at home. However, flowering them is not legal.
