I guess this is to limit the size of routing tables. Seems like a waste.
Yes on both. Almost all ISPs will filter out any routing advertisements from their customers that are smaller than a /24 prefix.
I drop ICMP entirely
So your one of the "network admins" that is causing my PMTU discovery to fail. Thanks idiot!
Google "blocking icmp" to see the numerous reasons why blocking all ICMP types is braindead.
Just block the ones that can be abused.
One question--when does the system remove that flag from your port.
For example, is your port still marked with a low QoS value after the trunk/downstream connection is no longer congested?
Is it removed after 15 minutes, hours, days?
I hate to say it, but the above email sounds fair. I just hope Comcast implements it as laid out in their email.
I have an 8800GT and the box is powered off every night to save energy. No problems so far and it is approx a year old.
He wants the filtering done on file names?? Is he serious? That would be one of the easiest filters to get around.
Forget advertising about a new 50 Mbps speed that you may only see 5 of during peak times. I want to see a company advertise their guaranteed speeds for that class of service along with the peak you might hit at 4am.
It's fast enough to multiplex (conference call) multiple voip streams.See "Scripting Language" My Arse: Using Python for Voice over IPhttp://www.python.org/pycon/dc2004/papers/6/
There are various reasons for this, but look around before assuming that "most" murderers are just good people who have done something bad.
The reason is Grand Theft Auto.
Duh.
