I just graduated from there last week. The classes aren't amazing, but they have a good rep and the co-op program landed me a sweet job after graduation.
Aside from the obvious issues in actually implementing this horrendous idea- I have to wonder since when is this the governments concern? Copyright infringement has always been a civil matter. I think this would be the same as the government monitoring the internet for libel against any citizens. It's ridiculous. The fact is our government is horribly run. Stuff like this really makes me angry. How about concentrating on saving money instead of inventing new taxes and new ways to monitor us. How about someone who proposes agency spending starting from ZERO- thus eliminating the need for agencies to needlessly waste money at the end of the year so they get it again next year. ARGH!HU#IRHR*$
How about something which will actually help the developers out? A lot of IE only developers are even using Firefox just because Firebug is definitely the best tool available for web development. IE has a developer toolbar but its not good enough and debugging javascript is incredibly painful with this. MS definitely has enough resources, I'm sure a lot of people could care less even if they just stole all the ideas from Firebug- this is software that is desperately needed!
Why is Outlook missing from the released formats? I've spent some time reverse engineering meeting requests myself and I'd love to see the complete.msg file specification. You could find some useful on MSDN already but it was nowhere near as complete as these releases appear to be.
I don't know how many people know about this, but my college (Drexel) uses this stupid web program called WebCT (WebCT.com) for students to submit their homework. Apparently it's pretty popular at schools across the country. It is horrendously written and yes, requires java in order to work for some foolish reason. So yeah, I have Java enabled because I usually forget to disable it after using WebCT.
"give local municipalities the authority to tax sales that cross State boundaries, which is forbidden, and outside of their jurisdiction."
This isn't forbidden, however by the constitution, the Fed would have to set up the system because they are the ones allowed to regulate interstate commerce. They already have done this for cigarettes, which is why buying out of state on the internet really doesn't save you that much money. The could do something similar for all sales on the internet.
I think you're a bit delusional. Apparently in your world being a sports fan and being a programmer are mutually exclusive.
I believe that having hobbies such as sports go a long way in making someone well rounded. You can't be all academic, and you can't be all jock. But apparently you resent people with any shred of duality. Things are only black or white in your universe, eh?
I love your sweet stereotype about sports fans. I guess because I love sports I won't do anything with my life.
Have fun living in your mom's basement all your life and being stuck in an eternal state of social awkwardness.
How's it feel?
I agree with this article completely. I have been using MS products for years and I found that MS Paint is the one program that has never had any exploits. If I could somehow run everything through Paint, I'm sure my network would be much more secure.

It's a good thing they won't follow suit in a Turd effect. :P
Well I guess that proves it.
Are you talking about the Wet Bandits? I'm surprised they even survived the first time, let alone in NY when they tried to rob Duncan's Toy Chest!

Firefox 3 nightly build got 67/100.

If someone stole it, wouldn't it be pretty easy to follow the trail it must've left? I'm calling BS on this.

I agree, that's the stupidest sentence I've ever read.
What kind of linebacker weighs 300lbs?
Same policy at Wawa fyi (if any of you guys actually know what a Wawa is)...
I agree, how many Grandmothers really own an iPod?

Except the less you buy, the more the industry claims that those losses are due to piracy. It's a never ending cycle.

Dude, Chinaman is not the preferred nomenclature....
That's great.

In that case, I would buy an extra one to compensate for you.
Wish I had some mod points...insightful. I'm sick of all the 'anti-conformist'-conformists.
