If anything, Sony's strategy is the opposite. Get PS3 off to a slower start because of the increased price due to blu-ray, hoping that in the long term the blu-ray will pull it through. So I guess if you were a gambling man you'd always bet against someone who is winning a marathon in the beginning because their strategy necessarily equates to burnout..
Your argument is flawed. Consider this: who has more money, you or Mike Tyson? Tyson is millions of dollars in debt while you probably have a positive net worth. Now, which one of you could go out tomorrow and buy a new Lamborghini? The answer is Tyson and not you. It's like that.
Great, so what the hell is your point? Whenever people use stupid expressions like "don't count your chickens" or "two birds with one stone", do you flip out and scream, telling them that what they're saying is technically wrong? Speech is regulated as it is for a reason. The freedom is relative, not absolute. Look at other societies such as China.
If you looked at the names for your two quotes, you'd realize that only the second statement was written by me.
Perhaps a better statement would have been: most PS2 owners I know also used it as their first DVD player.
Nice try, but that's not what I said at all. As a matter of fact you are the one guilty of this logic. All I said is that it COULD be true. I guess if 100% of people I know have a brain, it is not POSSIBLE that everyone in the world has a brain because I am using flawed logic. All I said is that it was possible.
Peace.
someone with a taste in, say, pop and rap is probably someone who follows the popular trend and cannot think for themselves
Nice work troll. Besides the fact that not all hip-hop (rap) is mainstream, did you ever think that these songs are popular because people like them, and not the other way around? Maybe, just maybe, some music becomes popular because people enjoy it. I'm sorry for blowing your brain with such a radical idea.
Who cares how long it's been on the market? That's like saying "Oh I'll buy this TV because it's first gen and it's real good for a first-gen tv, rather than buying a far superior model that took 5 revisions to get there." Your reasoning makes no sense from a consumer POV. Oh yeah, and of course they COULD, for instance, open up the wireless so there's no limits and you can share anything, that's not a hardware problem, but I'll bet you they won't.
In "no options other than color", I was referring to the fact that you can get an iPod nano, iPod shuffle, or iPod video. Also the fact that you can get iPods with different hard drive capacities. What form factors or storage capacities can you choose from when you pick out a Zune exactly?? Oh yeah and btw you can get an iPod nanos in many different colors and the original iPod in black or white (red special edition sometimes).
Compare Zune: Bigger screen with the exact same resolution, bulkier to carry, less efficient interface (deemed by most), no options other than color for the hardware....
Saying the Wii doesn't have supply issues just because they ship more units than the PS3 is wrong. Who cares how many they ship, or what the demand is...the fact is THEY STILL HAVE SUPPLY ISSUES. You can't walk into a store and buy one now, so how is that any better than the PS3? It's funny everyone is slamming the PS3 for not having enough units shipped, then saying the wii is so great as proved by the fact that they are flying off the shelves.
Although I'm sure this will be considered flamebait (probably rightly so), I bet if this same exact story was posted on Slashdot, only pertaining to Sony and not Nintendo, everyone would be overjoyed and blasting Sony for it. Yeah, I understand many of you have played for hours upon hours and it's been real secure, but that anecdotal evidence that it's been real secure the entire time doesn't really mean anything. Oh, and don't tell me you KNOW Nintendo just went and had already started to replace the straps out of good intention. I'm sure they we're at least somewhat motivated by fear of a lawsuit like this in the sue-happy U.S.
P.S, I agree it is a stupid lawsuit.

Well I guess you just don't KNOW any of the 90 million people who own a PS2 but not a Gamecube, but trust me they exist.
Not really, because you know it does cost money to make the systems regardless of a profit or loss. Unsold Wii = -$200, Unsold PS3 = -$850. However Nintendo produced much more as everyone has been so quick to point out. Your hypothetical point is wrong.

I bet both AC's are the same person, he just set himself up for his own joke to get modded as funny!
I'm still waiting for the P4 DirectTV cards to get cracked. Doesn't look like it's gonna happen, and it's been a couple years at least...

How about this one? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doorknob_(game)
Thank you for your random Wii plug that really has nothing to do with the article at all (except maybe the subject).

It might be false, but how is it obviously false? My first DVD player was a PS2 and the same is true of many people I know.
How can you say "CONSIDERABLY" and "Not a huge discrepancy" both?
I sold four $500 PS3 units for $1000 each. If you did it quick enough, there was plenty of money to be made.
You forgot to close your parenthesis.

I wouldn't get a Sandisk.

here's a site that has a valid use for the paste part of the exploit. not sure about the retrieval part... (works on firefox too) www.2prong.com
That was dumb.

Gates decided Vista should only require 640k of memory.
