Actually, I've found that a lot of people who either enjoy math rock or who play math rock tend to be fairly bright. Either that or they just never learned how to count...
Also, I had no idea percent was two words in British English...
Stop and think about the meanings of the words 'per' and 'cent' (I'm guessing you don't think much about the etymologies of the words you use). Oh, and as someone else already pointed out, your "6.6 times more likely to be a genius" comment is just plain wrong for a few reasons.
Based on all this, I'm guessing that you can't stand metal. ; )
There are also gifted children who don't listen to heavy metal, and heavy metal listeners that aren't gifted.
Agreed. Without access to the full study, this writeup doesn't really mean anything.
TFA: Asked for their favourite type of music, 39 per cent said rock, 18 per cent R&B and 14 per cent pop. Six per cent said heavy metal and a third rated it in their top five genres.
From the sounds of this, articles could easily have been written stating that "Gifted Children Find R&B Comforting" or "Gifted Children Find Pop Comforting".
I read the summary as indicating that previous versions of Windows couldn't implement it properly, but that Vista would now allow it to be done right. I can see how it could be interpreted the other way, though.
Of course, OS X also does live updates of windows in Expose, don't know why the article suggests otherwise.
From TFA: "The scaled windows that Exposé shows you are not merely static screenshots of those windows; they're the actual windows themselves, just scaled down. This means that they update live, and any changes in a window are immediately apparent to the user."
I can't believe 'home' editions can not fax or scan. must be a misprint. Surely since MS is trying to be all 'lifestyles' like everyone else these days. and scan is no different from camera.
I'm assuming they're referring to using the built-in Windows Image Acquisition service for scanning and whatever the appropriate fax service is. In which case, I won't miss it. Chances are your scanner or fax/modem has drivers and/or software which handles all of this without using the less-functional built-in Windows abilities...
I want a machine with an original Pentium I processor (you know the one). Put that together with like 16MB of differently spec'd RAM (2-8s or 4-4s) on a mobo with capacitors circa 2001, and an IBM DeskStar 75GXP hard drive. Oh, and it should be running WinME. That's like a dream come true...
Ahhh. Thank you. So, does my local cached version of the site constitute a "copy" that I've made? If so, I think this woman finally discovered what the elusive Step 2 is...
I'm too lazy to look this up right now, but can't you request that archive.org remove your site's content from the archive (assuming it is actually your site)?
Either their customers are still busy trying to get onto the internet in the first place, or those spyware/adware tools that they've been shoveling are actually doing some good...

Microsoft said it agreed to join the alliance to work with other vendors to evolve Ajax.
I can't wait for MS to release "Internet: Ajax Evolved".
It'd be like if I set out to write a factual article titled "The Easter Bunny's trip to Mars".
I'd read it!

How do you read that as suggesting otherwise?

Do as I say, not as I do...
Turtle Beach and M-Audio. Do I get a cookie?
Man. This Microsoft project is just a ripoff of Google's Gandalf Search Wizard project...
But it's a really laid back sort of impatience...
Next study! People who date teenage girls are risky drivers!
Hey now! I'll have you know that I've had my driver's license for close to 30 years and I'm not a hazard. Not to other drivers at least...
Thanks for the offer, but that Cyrix chip didn't have the FDIV problem, did it?
Go max out a Mac Pro on Apple's site... it's $20k.
Pfffft. Lemme know when you get it up to $640k. That oughta be enough for anyone...

OK
They were all hanging out in the teachers lounge getting drunk...
Any recommendations from /.ers on a good school for studying this?

Either their customers are still busy trying to get onto the internet in the first place, or those spyware/adware tools that they've been shoveling are actually doing some good...
Will there be a reduced service price while it's still in the beta stage?
I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess that you aren't married...
Get a Telos Zephyr. Hey, you never said anything about budget constraints...
