Right, but Sonic came out *before* the SNES so unless you consider that the Genesis was competing against the NES, this example doesn't really work as they had nothing to come from behind from (since the SNES didn't exist yet.)
Let's see:
*Character models would be an order of magnitude more complex--you wouldn't generate a 20k poly model for a Wii game and then scale it down.
*The more realisitc the model, the more realistic the required animation, i.e. extensive motion capture.
*Physics systems (I assume this would fit under graphics) which will and can be far more complex on PS3.
*Team size goes up massively for the aforementioned items (e.g. if you have a team of guys working on models that are 10k/ea. and need 100 of those models, you'll twice that number to do 20k/ea.(yes, gross over-simplification, but you get the point.)
Amongst other things...
Wait, wait, I love Clover's output as much as the next raving mad fanboy, but Capcom did just put out Dead Rising (which I didn't care for but a lot of people loved and that wasn't at all a re-tread) and they also have Lost Planet soon which is bloody specatacular (and isn't a re-tread) so let's at least be fair while we mourn Clover's untimely demise.
I was 16 of 18 and there were A LOT of angry people behind me when they found out they weren't getting one--well over 20 people walked away empty-handed.
Ultimate Ghosts 'N' Goblins, as of right now, is the only game worth playing on the hardware (out next month in the USA.) Lumines might have counted, but the cell phone version is surprisingly good and it's also coming to XBLA in September.

Ah, but if you knew how little he actually had to do with AR you might take that back...let's just say he was a stand-up guy and did one of his relative (a cousin, I believe) a very, very big favor.
Where's The Adventures of Batman and Robin on Sega Genesis? I don't believe there's a single, 16-bit, game on any platform (SNES, Amiga, etc.) that ever did the things this game does, graphically--the sheer volume of graphical effects, tricks, etc. that this game pushes is astonishing.
No, as of right now all it means is that the most hardcore Xbox 1 players have bought 360s--the 15% of Xbox 1 users that sucscribed to Live in the first place.

Except that (at least in the case of the 360) you can't.

If we cut them off from feeding at the trough (our taxes) that would do the trick nicely.
I agree. I think Meteos stomps Lumines *but* Meteos wasn't created by Mizuguchi--it was created by Masahiro Sakurai.
Yup. I saw this game running (on PS1) in early '98, so it's at least that old (and, yes, it was running on the original LoK engine.)

Yeah, buy a cart and stop playing the ROM.
But, uh, PS2 games *do* support online play--quite a few, actually.

Actually, it bludgeoned even the best Treasure had to offer (as impressive as most of their games were).
