I take it you are single? In what world do any women hit a better than 60% logical statement rate?
I think that depends on whether or not you settle for a chick. When I was 'hunting' I met every crazy chick in town. When I got pissed off and said "fuck it", I quit looking, and that's when I started bumping into ladies (yes, plural) that actually had brains in their heads. My problems stopped when I stopped running around going "ok... I can live with that."
I think it's you not understanding the market to which the figure for marketshare relates.
Oh I wish that were the case. That'd mean that the fanboy noise level here was really low. But, no, you're right, the massive number of debates and corrections on this topic would pretty much have to be a failure on my part. I apologize for breaking Slashdot.
So why is it that it's bad that EA or Activision makes constant sequels and remakes to games but then everyone has these orgasms over fan-made games that are just remaking and rehashing old games?
You don't have the gray matter to work out a reasonable answer?
Okay, fine, I'll give you a little hint: A reason exists, it's obvious, and it's not hypocritical. Can you find a good answer or are you dependent on somebody feeding you an answer that you're just going to argue with anyway?
I don't think much of it either way. Most of the time I have an opinion on something like that it's because I either really like or really don't like them for whatever reason. Somewhere along the line I equate having a strong opinion with being right. Heh. I'm done with that. Everything has its pros and cons, big deal.
The point is that on Slashdot Apple's marketshare fluctuates depending on what the context is. If it's Apple being evil with apps, they have a practical monopoly. If it's about Android never catching up to them, then Apple has virtually no marketshare.
That's why we get the "but Apple doesn't have a monopoly" comments. Zealorty on both sides has muddied the information so now it can be bent and twisted to suit any argument.
I call name collision. Please refer to the iPhone/iPad operating system as something other than IOS because Cisco used it first.
You're about a month behind. The complaint that's currently fashionable is the antenna issue. In about two weeks it's gonna move on to something else, so try to keep up.
Happens to me fairly regularly. Then again, most of the friends I have on my Facebook account are colleagues in the industry I work in. We help each other find work. We have a few laughs, too.
That's a lot of completely wasted time and resources.
Heh. "I just thought I'd come onto Slashdot and spend 20 seconds talking about how reading and posting on another site is a complete waste of time and resources."
If anti-intellectualism is what is required to blend well with the society, I say: fuck the society.
That's not anti-intellectualism. It's anti pretentious'ism. I can't imagine you haven't encountered this yourself, being annoyed at somebody who uses certain words just to brag i mean. "I made the call on my I--Phone..." "I drove up in here in my Jag-u-ar..." "I finished processing it on my Quad Xeon..."
I fail to see how 'rapid ambulation' is unnecessarily complicated... At worst it's like using an int instead of a short.
Hah.
Look, some of it is about clear communication. Some of it is about talking 'normally', i.e. not putting a false face forward. And some of it is just about not being obnoxious. It's not about some plan to keep everybody "anti-intellectual". We all love following standards, right? So why doesn't that apply to how we talk?
Is that a threat or just a moronic retort without substance?
Niether.
Reading legal documents is almost always a good idea, whether you think they can be upheld or not. At the very least, you'll learn what the other party expects of you.
Derr.
One thing I really despise about Slashdot, and I firmly believe this is related to that desire to get the word 'insightful' next to everybody's posts, is that nobody asks questions. They just reply with a rebuttal even though it's plainly clear they didn't understand what the intended meaning was.

Appreciated. But, no, that's a quote from a real comment I made that was modded as +5 insightful. :)

Heh. There are people that claim it.
Queue "but Apple doesn't have a monopoly"...
Heh. Gee, I wonder why this would happen. In one thread: "Anti-trust!" And in the next: "Apple only has 3% marketshare!"

Scaring their customers away with nickel and diming isn't profitable.
Banks ask their customers to look towards the future, they should follow their own advice.
The amount of interest that can be earned on $50.00 is less than the cost to send you your statements.
That's not the customer's fault.
Congrats on the creation of a new Slashdot meme!
Yes, early termination fees are very much a cash cow for telecomms companies.
I'm guessing you didn't follow any of the ETF bullshit that has been happening over the last two years.
The ETF isn't that unreasonable given that the $350 fee is for people who got a phone for at least $350 less than it should have cost them.
Yeah, that's why the equation they use is $350 - (($350 / 48) * NumberOfMonthsUsed), right?
Perhaps, but the ETF is already unfairly high and the dude died serving his country.

See!
OKay. Present your butt and watch me not lick it!
Wait! I didn't post that!!
I am working one it. Just one more line of code, almost there.
I like to lick butts!
Thanks to you both for that info. :)

He used to have four paws. Now he has fore paws and faux paws.
Ugh. Please tell me that's the end of this tail.
