The joke in New Mexico is that "all drivers are covered by insurance...half of them just happened ot be covered by the 'uninsured motorist coverage' of the other half"
Non-windows systems do enjoy a certain degree of protection simply because they are a minority.
It's hard to say that is the only reason.
Unix and Windows have completely different histories in terms of design philosophy, especially with regards to networking and multiple users that it's really hard to say that even if UNIX/Linux were as popular as Windows that it was get as many successful attacks. They are dissimilar enough that it's not possible to say that they are equally as vulnerable, inherently,, and that the only difference is exposure
2) Do you think you can do a better job writing "for (int i=0; iMAX_LEN; i++)" better than anyone else? Do you really think that coding is the most important part of program design?
That's not the point. The problem is that where it used to take one person to figure out "the code needs to loop from 0 to MAXLEN " and then write it, it now takes 2 people. One to say "the code needs.." who then ships that overseas for someone else to write. Not that he can do it any better than someone else but simply that by the time th specs are ready to detail needed, the code is practically written anyway and it's inefficient to pack that up and send it over for someone else to do that last bit.

One thing I see in how humans move that I don't see robots being made to emulate is muscle, cartilege, soft tissue. Stuff that gives and slides and works together.
If the RIAA really actually cared about the *artits* they would spend a lot more time working to make sure the *artists* got more money per CD and didn't get acidentally trapped into vicious contracts
There's a *lot* more the RIAA could de doing to help the people they supposedly reresent then going after file sharing. I mean, if a CD is sold a few less times due to downloads then the artists loses a few hundred bucks and the record company loses thousands. If the RIAA really cared about the money the arist was making or losing, they'd be fighting the record company to change the way contracts work so that the artist *gets* more then spare change per cd
Not that I think filesharing s right in it's own, but who is the RIAA really repersenting? Their targeting seems to be off a bit
Ironically, at a Mexican restaurant in Des Moines, Iowa, my Mexican waiter who had only been in the US for 4 years thought New Mexicon was part of Mexico, also
These days, that's pretty redundant
Why are the machines of war still designed to carry meat-sacks around inside them?!
You ever seen "Darkstar"?
"History And Moral Philosophy" class from Heinlein's "Starship Troopers"
Just attach a bungi chord to the earth on the way out...and snap back home
I have determined "Reptilian" to be the worst movie of all time.
You don't watch enough bad movies....

Is the caost of the OS and support a signifcant contributer?

Water with most of the water taken out?
That's de-hydrated water
It stores and ships easier that way
"I'm a bank robber..."
"Bass Player"
Is Ranma the capital of Sao Tome? Or Maybe Genma?
This is the way it's always worked. Borland was doing it with Turbo Pascal and Turbo C a long time ago

Then I give up :)
Seriously, though, I think the point is still valid.
Go to The RIAA's site where they make no bones at all about the fact that they represent the labels.
Maybe they should change the name from "Recording Industry Artists of Amercia" to something abit more honest then?

Chill. I live in the NE heights
Cause then it wouldn't be, you know, useful..to me
Wow!
I had *not* thought of that.
Imagine a live webcam from up in a balloon!
It's a quasi-suburb that's outgrowing Albuquerque itself, and everyone is moving out there. It's also threatening to totally surround Bernalillo.
So when is the west side gonna seceede?
Half the highways are empty, and you can feel totally alone and just cruise
At high speed
Combine that with warm summer nights, and it's amazing.
Beautiful place to be
