If Nintendo is smart they are working on Pokemon Online. Weather it be on the Wii or for the PC, Pokemon is from the ground up designed to be a social game of massive proportions. The premise of the games themselves lend to a "beatable" MMO that people won't actually want to quit upon beating it as well as the potential for offering people a casual game that doesnt take forever but provides the endless addictive fun gameplay.

I honestly think this is where they need to go with Pokemon next to keep the games interesting. Hopefully they'll go for a fullfledged MMO and not try to make it in an animal crossing style where you can only have a small handful of people in your town at once.

Gotta catch em all and trade em all after all.

First let me admit that I am most defintely WAY out of my league with every comment that I've made in this thread.

I was in no way implying that linux searches are inherently simple. I've seen some crazy complex searches that do things I couldnt begin to comprehend. I was trying to avoid lame search suggestions like the post earlier suggesting that windows couldnt search for all files with a particular extension (.mp3 in this case) and then send them on to a media player.

I also understand that scripting can save a lot of time and scripting can most certainly be done in windows whether in the "crappy" command prompt offered or using cygwin. My point there was more that he was always suggesting simple 1-2 line scripts to do a simple task that I only needed to do once or twice. They almost always were simple tasks that windows can very readily handle and that would have taken me half a day to figure out how to do with a script in cygwin. Which is why I keep pointing out that I am in no way a guru and likely barely an intermediate when it comes to all these concepts.

I just hate it when linux-ka-teers come out and start bashing windows saying it cant do crap when it can handle a great number of things. If I could find a decent site to help me get cygwin setup consistently on all my machines I might start to learn a thing or two about linux and be able to make use of it's flexibility which turns into power! Sadly I've yet to find a site or an individual that is willing to explain what files to edit, how to edit them, and why I am or would want to.

For instance, for the life of me I cannot figure out where and how to setup cygwin so the default directory is either cygdrive or simply my "C" drive instead of my home directory. I know the "home" directory is where I am SUPPOSED to be running my programs and what not but I very much prefer to run and have access to my C directory immediately and work my way around from there.

I called the police station on two separate occasions and both times I was told to call back on 911. Both times I stated that it was NOT an emergency I just wanted an officer to stop by and tell them to turn it down since multiple times of myself going over and requesting this same thing got no response.

All in all, just because it isn't a case of life and death apparantly doesnt mean it isnt a 911 situation I guess. And to those wondering I don't live in some podunk little town. I live about 20 miles west of Chicago. So it's not like the station only has 911 and no other number or dispatch.

Give Nintendo a bit of credit and think about the whole system and what Nintendo is trying to achieve before knocking them. They are competing for the players money not for a monopoly of the players time. I'm pumped about the Rev and just might pick up a 360 as well simply because the online experience looks to be so streamlined. They provide a high quality online experience and isolate the BS that parents dont want to have to censor. Personally I like the way Nintendo's running their business. They remain the only grounded intelligent forward looking Video Game company IMHO.

Don't get me wrong, I have a PS2 and PSP as well as my DS and GC. I just think that Sony and MS are too focused on tech specs and not on the games and gameplay. I believe Nintendo actually makes some profit on their hardware as well which means that if the market were to "crash" again Nintendo would likely still be around providing great games at a reasonable price.

Now if they'd just get some third party software makers to create some great games that ARE directed at the older generations that grew up with Nintendo since they do seem to create a lot of 1st and 2nd party games for kiddies. Mario and Zelda are GREAT games but I like a bit more Mature rated content as well...GTA is one of my favs!

If you don't like the stylus control you dont have to use it either...that's what options are for. Bring on the Revolution and bring back sane gaming that isnt driven by specs but by quality. I hope Nintendo turns out to be the only one that can turn a profit on their hardware...that to me indicates that THEY made the right decision.
