  1. Re:Roadmap to the future? on NZ Outfit Dumps Open Office For MS Office · · Score: 0

the roadmap includes the big $$? sure, we can see a roadmap with M$FT but because they stand to make the big $, but OO.o, what do they stand to gain? Trust? Security? Brotherly love? lol... I see it as, either make money or make friends. In the end, when you are on your death bed, what are you going to look back on and cherish? Those bills won't share moments with you, but the people will. We need to learn to learn from eachother and share information.

Daddy Microsoft will love his partner son (odf), only if the son will do what the daddy wants.

...that Microsoft has announced in a letter that they will support ODF as a format option, if it doesn't 'restrict choice among formats'.

I think this is a load of crap. Microsoft doesn't want restrictions? More like, they don't want their views to be left behind if people are opened to different views. In fact, I wonder if Microsoft will try to throw some FUD once the options will come through.

  4. what a Novel(l) Idea! on Programs Cannot Be Uninstalled In Vista? · · Score: 1

how about using the ultimate un-install button. install a Linux favor instead of Vista. I don't know if you noticed this but windows Vista even has problems with their own software (parts of VS.NET 2005) working on Vista. I used that comparability test from Microsoft to inform me (if I do choose so) to install Vista (from XP Pro), I have found that one of the apps that are broken is the VS.NET 2005 software. Granted, I know that not everyone uses this, but it is just funny to see a company break software that is their own building tools.

What a New Idea!... And not be bound by only buying from Dell for every internal part? That is crazy talk. ;) As Dell feels, if we buy one item from them, we must buy everything from them, and then Take down a forest for the next month or two of paperwork of ads. ;);)

  7. Autism and Robots on Robots Teach Autistic Kids Social Skills · · Score: 1

I know this probably has already been said once or twice before, but I feel that children with autism can not have any replacement for social interaction, but having tools (like these robots) only to aid in the process of social interaction. Starting out going from Zero interaction (outside of inner family interaction), to the robotic doll/action figure, to adding a friend that could understand where the child is coming from, 2 children, 4... and so on, until the child is comfortable in a normal setting with a wide variety of people, children and adults. I don't claim to be an expert in child development, but I have worked with enough children (with and with out autism) to understand their comfort zone and how to slowly expand this zone outside his/her-self. Each child (regardless) has a different level of tollerence(sp?) for this and will adapt at their own pace.
