THe very first first-person game I ever played was a Fp version of Pac-Man. It was all vecter lines and it ran on an IBM PC/XT with a GCA card. That was about six years before DOOM came out.
I have never understood why the "Mode X" myth just won't die. How much research would it take to figure out that DOOM (the original DOS version) ran at 320x200? A screenshot would be all that is needed to prove the resolution.
I never got into the uppers side of things, save for caffeine and sugar in combination. I've given up everything else I ever did. They interfered with my ability to persue my hobbies.
The only thing left is booze, but even then it takes me a year to go through a six-pack of beer.
Something in this system needs to change. I don't like the fact that I get moderated down as a troll whenever I take a position that is contrary to the positions of either the editors or readers of this page, regardless of the validity of my position; or if I take umbrage with the wording or position of a story posted here. (That was a long sentence, wasn't it?).
SlashDot used to be a forum where people could discuss the issues raised here, but I see the moderation system used quite often to silence desenting voices.
I expect the Earth to be here in 10,000 years. I mean, it's already been around for (about) 4,500,000,000 years, and the sun i snot expected to go nova for another 5,000,000,000 years or so. Whats 10,000 compaired to that?
Will mankind be around in 10,000 years? Who knows.
The combination of CG and standard animation was terrible! Ugh! You could see the GC components in every scene they were in! No finesse at all.
You want good blending of traditional and CG animation, go see The Iron Giant.

When I put my $8.50 up on the counter, I'm not expecting detailed plots.. twisting plot devices, classic literary devices..etc. I go to the movies for enjoyment.
Have you considered that that attitude might be why so many movies these days just suck? When you lower your expectations you get sub-standard drek.
When I pay money to see a movie I want more than just "okay".
No, but a movie with a horrible plot, bad voice acting, second-rate animation (not the CG) and the worst blemding of traditional animation and CG animation is crap.
This movie felt like they tried to mix Heavy Metal, any one of a dozen awful Ralph Bakshe movies, The Iron Giant and Star Wars into one movie. Whatever concoction they came up with really stinks.
I was surprised to see Ben Edlunds' name in the screenwriting credits. He usually does much better than that.

I don;t think you are being too hars at all. The movie tanked. The plot holes (you covered most of them) were big enough to drive a truck through.
Th animation was utter crap. The GC stuff was pretty good, but the traditional animation was garbage and they did one of the worst jobs sticthing them together. They should have watched The Iron Giant a few more times. That movie did an awsome job of mixing traditional animation and CG animation.
And I am goddamn sick to death of the father-son angst BS plotlines! Am I the ONLY guy in the world who is not pissed off at his father? Jeebus. Make it stop!
The dialogue (if you want to call it that) reminded me of Ralph Bakshe movies: disjointed and rambling with no real point.
This movie felt like they were trying to make "Heavy Metal For Teens", but without the sex, drugs or humor. Whatever they were trying to do, they failed.
Maybe, but MS has known about the security issues with LookOut for a long time. Just how many of these attacks have come trough that piece of junk for how long?
My employer has never been hit by those beasties because we refuse to use eith outLook or Exchange Server because of these very issues.
Maze Wars, and it's Atari ST clone Midi Maze were multiplayer.

Wow! With one of those boards, a pair of 1.2GHz Tbirds and an NV20 board I might get decent frame rates in Unreal! Woo-hoo!

Not only was that very funny (and if you didn't know it was a hoax you need to improve your reading skills) it is dead-on.
But if I keep using the same boot hard drive then I haven't reisntalled anything, have I?
That's why I build my own systems from parts. Sure, it's not any cheaper anymore, but I know what's in it.

Unless he's got a tank out back that's quake resistant. He did say "remote location".
Disney would go after those soccer moms in a heartbeat.
And why should there be any fallout? The kid was committing illegal acts and they busted him. Big deal.
I've been using the same IBM brand keyboard for the last nine years. I've spilled the most amazing amount of stuff into it and it keeps on working.
The best $150.00 (US) I ever spent.
I gave up smoking pot a while ago.
Sodomy is not illegal in my state.
I don't speed as I don't have a car.
I also have the balls to put my name on my posts.

Dude, go back to the Shugashack with that! We don't need to see some dudes wisdom teeth from BEHIND!
(Anybody know how to get puke out of a keyboard?)
I'd post juvenile trash like that anonymously, too.
Try having the balls to put your name on what you write.
That's funny. My wife and I have lots of sex.
Or did you mean "together"?...
I don't want to lower my expectaions, and I don't think I should have to. I want good movies, goddamnit! I'm tired of crap.

They've gone to plaid!
They must have beaten us by a week!
