i have been a linux user for roughly 4+ years now. i've been through every distribution known, at one time or another. i keep coming back to slackware. it's the only distribution that is stable, coherent, and doesn't treat me like a microsoft-bred moron. for the past few weeks i've been hanging out in the/slackware-current directory on freesoftware.com... waiting for a new official release. patrick, you rock! keep up the awesome work!
could anyone out there recommend any packages (open or commercial) that could assist in helpdesk automations? i've seen them in action before. prior to actually directing a question to a human, you're first given the option of posing a question to an online helpdesk which will grab keywords and hopefully pick the most relevant solutions within a database. if those solutions don't apply, you can still take your question to a human clerk. thanks!
not sure if this would help, but if you're looking at creating dynamic international support for buttons you could just use php's gd library implementation to create buttons on the fly using existing images as templates. perhaps even create them once and statically referrence them based on the language mode you're in. that would definitely cut on server load.
so now that GD has gone from GIF to PNG...will PHP adopt a new image library? perhaps ILIB? the reason why i ask, is because i actually find the dynamic gif creation very useful. anybody know anything about this?
I honestly don't understand why MS keeps doing these things. It seems to me, that stunts like this just gives people a reason to be cynical of Micro$oft...not that I'm really complaining of that fact. What do they really gain from this? A linux support site can't use a crappy slogan they've adopted? Big deal. Just more anti-MS sentiment to go around.
although i despise bill gates and alot of his business practices, i'm beginning to get annoyed with the whole MS vs DOJ trial in general. they're almost as bad as the whole Bill and Monica tribulations.
i want to split one of those flexible keyboards into 2, apply a little velcro and have a keyboard that can be attatched to both legs. =] just think how comfortable your hands are resting on your legs. eh? perhaps i'm just insane.
didn't rob receive a copy of Bunny on VHS or something? i remember him mentioning Bunny in one of the "goodies i get through slashdot" postings. maybe he could rip an mpeg version. =]
bunny had a much more realistic look and feel to anything i've seen produced by pixar. then again it's only a couple minutes long, whereas all the pixar works i've seen span much longer.
well...it was an active ml domain for 2 years. i ended up registering rosspages.dhs.org and danger.dhs.org, but i'm wondering why my entry has been deleted.
"Remember back when everyone ran Slack 'cuz thats all there really was?"
how is that much different from today? =]
http://www.opensound.com ... OSS 3.9.3l supports the SB Live! cards.
it's people like you that makes /. what it has become today.

but will it have 64,000 documented bugs? or will they even bother to document them? =]

and that's the only reason i'm stuck down here, too. =P

next time you feel the need to rant about something of which you're obviously misinformed, pipe it directly to /dev/null.
linux is only good for word processing! =]

is it time to battle FUD with FUD?
i saw the matrix opening night and was amazed, but was curious as how it compared to the comic.

ahh...words to live by.

besides the animation...the story was really good.
i have to wipe the monitor off now.
i couldn't think of a more appropriate feature to belong in the kernel. disabled, by default, but nevertheless there.

my renewed ml.org domain officially died this morning. is this because of DHS in beta? in any case, i registered my dhs accounts already.
