I have found with My ADD that music (any music) and even having a movie (only movies I have already seen) playing in the background help to cancel out external stimuli and help me to be productive. Not every one is like this but for me it truly works. Perhaps with the right meds this would be a different story. If I am unable to block external stimuli I focus on everything. at least with media I have something I have already experienced taking the majority of the background leaving me to focus on what I need.
Advertising should be illegal for drug companies. That money should be better spent educating Doctors on the drugs. If its a prescription drug there is no need for the average user to be presented with it several times a day. This is why we have drug resistant germs. But then again in my opinion Doctors suck. Money grubbing asshole who will write a prescription for anything just for the revenue.
While I don't download music or movies due to paranoia. I do have a large collection. All of which is saved to my server, (debian core with 4 1tb sata drives in a raid 5 and fully Encrypted.) None of the PCs connected to it know its encrypted. Everything runs pretty fast. I average 56MBps transfer rates. and if it is powered off. I have to ssh into it to allow access to the drive again.
FYI Random filling 3TB of space takes a really long time.
exactly. Of course with all other industries its about holding control as long as possible. Technically everything you do on your phone (smart or not) is nothing but data usage. your voice already uses a form of voip. not ethernet based but it is just data. the migration to data only plans is inevitable but I expect to see the phone companies fight it as long as possible.
Laptop 13-17" with more than double the power $300-$800. Screw a 7-10" netbook and tablets with fairly limited function. I'll spend the extra $100 for the extra 3gb ram bigger HDD, better processor and video card. I never understood paying more for less.
I am actually surprised I haven't ever seen anyone compare P2P to gun ownership. Guns are useful tools. They have many legitimate uses. However there are those who use them improperly. Rob others. Take lives. We need an NRA type organization for P2P.
The type of animal should not matter. People are quoting they cause problems to customers. I am not allergic to snakes. I am allergic to dogs and horses among other things. You can't please everyone and each individual has different needs. Match them with what works.
Generally no. I can't speak for all ISPs but from everything I have looked into the only advantage to Business accounts is a block of Static IPs and open ports. However, you pay the price in higher premiums and lower bandwidth.
Honestly, Bloatware sucks but at the same time it is a major source of revenue for them which in turn lowers prices. First thing I do when I get a new machine is wipe it out and start with a fresh OS install. Drivers from the MFG site and boom good to go no hours of uninstalling. My HP DV7 decent machine only cost $400. 2.2Ghz, 500GB, 4Gb Ram, 17.3 screen. Bloatware has its use. However I do agree for the Average user it causes a lot of trouble.
Metered would be perfectly fine if they offered enough options at reasonable prices. Like 5gb steps from 5gb per month all the way up to 500gb per month.
The problem is not high caps. we are talking caps of 2, 5, 10 GB per month. I hit 15 GB in a few hour downloading and testing 20 different linux distros.
I have been boycotting sony for years. Hasn't seemed to make a difference. People just don't give a shit these days. they will tolerate almost anything rather than endure a small inconvenience to make a difference. Damn sheeple these days.
Honestly I think where AMD went wrong is while INTEL has been spending money on companies like Dell to increase how many products contain INTEL, AMD went and bought another company to try and improve them selves. They may be a bit behind due to financial struggles however I am one that definitely does not support those who play the marketing game. Has anyone on here ever seen a TV ad for AMD?
