PA does get overly self indulgent at times (Cardboard Tube Samurai), and that title does not inspire confidence that the game will feature the quick wit of most comics rather than the self-importance of the news posts. The title of the game is "On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness", I don't see what's so self important about that.
"It's weird being a "celebrity;" I get autograph requests and death threats... all for an 8-bit videogame."
-Danny Ledonne, possibly the second most famous game creator on Earth.
The end portion, "-Danny Ledonne, possibly the second most famous game creator on Earth." is not a part of the original quote, it is the place where the quote is attributed to somebody. It is the author of the article who wrote it, not Ledonne.
You left out what in my opinion was the best part!
Jack actually tries to hold his sign up two or three times, the judge finally gets him to keep it down, and then tells the bailiff if he puts the sign up again to take him into custody. I used to worry that this guy might actually convince people that video games were horrible things, but after seeing that video I have no worries anymore. He acts more like a 5 year old then a lawyer.
Nowhere in the OP was there mention of the idea that "casual" and "hardcore" gamers should have access to the same things. The question was, will the game cater to one, the other, or if they plan on getting both, how they plan on doing that. It's a very good question that every new MMORPG is going to have to answer.
While I have not RTFA, unless there is more to that quote, maybe something like, "which makes him better than anyone else who has done this before" I don't see what you're so angry about. They simply point out that, like all those people you've mentioned, he's going a step beyond what your average fan might do. Unless all Star Wars fans create $60,000, feature length, fan films. I know I couldn't do something like this, so yeah this dork is kind of special.
Why would anyone by the Revolution as a second console if they can just buy the controller for their existing console?!?...Sony and Microsoft have plenty of time to see what happens with the controller and copy it if necessary.
You seem to forget the fact that people will have to buy the Revolution for it to become a big enough success for MS & Sony to copy. Seeing as how the ps3 and 360 most likely do not have any support for this kind of controller, it's also hard to imagine 3rd parties making copycat controllers for those systems. So that is why people will buy a revolution (among other reasons) The bottom line is Nintendo will have a monopoly on this kind of control scheme for some time. They played their cards close to the vest for a long time on purpose, so that neither of their competitors would be able to integrate this kind of technology into their own systems.
I will not argue on the bias of UPI as I'm not familiar with the site.
Perhaps the problem is that you have not specified which "Missile Defense" system you are reffering to not working. The facts stated in the article regarding succesful tests are true. The Reuters article does not specify which system they are talking about but there were in fact succesful tests of the SM-3/Aegis missile defense system late last year. http://www.prnewswire.com/cgi-bin/micro_stories.pl ?ACCT=910473&TICK=RTNB12&STORY=/www/story/11-17-20 05/0004218987&EDATE=Nov+17,+2005
First came the Paul Mooney sketch, then he later did "Ask a gay guy" with Mario Cantone. http://www.tv.com/chappelles-show/ep.-106/episode/ 234160/summary.html
I'm curious. Since you seem to be of the opinion that they did things the wrong way, what would have worked better?

You may want to check your own current events. The article you link is from December 2004. There have been succesful tests since then.r yID=20051230-105253-7742r
