    But couldn't we make these more like cell phones? I see a lot
    of people walking around with bluetooth headsets. Rather than
    making the hearing aide fit in the ear, make it something I can
    wear on my belt, or on a lanyard. The problems of size, power
    and heat all become easier to solve.

    Drug dealer shoots innocent bystander is not protected by Stand your Ground law. Only the perp's relatives cannot sue. That is assuming the dead person is found to be the perp. Stand Yorur Ground laws say I don't have to retreat from an aggressor, not I'm allowed to be an aggressor and shoot whomever I want.

    Show me one case where an aggressor or a felon (drug dealer) shot anyone and got away with it because of a "stand your ground law".

    Now, I'm not actually in favor of "Stand your Ground". I think a weapon holder should be required to retreat if possible. But blaming
    "Stand Your Ground" laws in this or other cases is silly. As the parent said "cite one case".

    Zimmerman is charged. Not because he "stood his ground" but because he initiated the confrontation. 2nd degree murder is
    the right charge. The court will decide if he is guilty.

    "Florida's Stand Your Ground law explicitly creates immunity for wrongful death suits." from an aggressor or his family or his estate.
    Not from anyone else.

    Mod parent up please. Also the relatives of the victim will successfully sue the perp for wrongful death.
    A decent gun safety course will teach you that every bullet you send down range has a lawyer attached to
    it hoping it damages something it should not.

    else got a closed casket funeral.

    and wear the belt/shoulder harness. I know two people
    that totaled full size American pick-ups in collisions
    with trees (the both swear it was the tree's fault). One
    got a broken kneck from the airbag. The other was
    unscathed; the truck was built before airbags were
    required in pick-ups.

    A fire captain told me that he had never seen a dead
    body in a car accident with a person wearing the
    belt/should harness. He'd seen a lot of dead bodies in car
    accidents where deceased had no belts on.

    I bought a brand new, unlocked Samsung GSM phone on ebay. $30.
    No camera.
    I also buy minutes a $100 at a time. Those minutes seem to last
    about a year.

    It's nice to hear from someone who has it worse than me.. Most of my colds turn into
    sinus infections which can hold on for many weeks. Antibiotics clear them up within
    days.

    to "Antibiotics Are Useless In Treating Most Sinus Infections". How many bugs are resistant to amoxicillin at this point?
    How many of the patients had bacterial infections?

    The people that want them here (employers) don't want them here legally.
    If they are here legally, employers would have to treat them fairly. If they
    have to treat them fairly, they may as well hire citizens.

    The powers that be do not want this "solved". It is such a great issue
    to leave open and unresolved. Think how both sides can rile up
    their "base". Those evil democrats what to let "illegals" steal your
    jobs! Those evil republicans want to make hard working immigrants
    "illegal".

    The solution is easy and clear. Either make it illegal to hire them and
    prosecute those that do, or give them some sort of legal status.
    Neither solution will be implemented.

    Take a diesel Mercedes. Strap it on top of a rocket. Launch it into
    earth orbit for a year or two. Land it back on earth.

    Get in and start driving. Your not allowed to refuel it, service it,
    change the tires, or even add air to the tires.

    Good luck. The Mercedes I know about need pretty regular
    service by a specialized technician.

    Oh, and I'd like the Mercedes to drive itself with a multi-second lag
    between any command you send it and receipt of said command.

    We could over come the fear of 13 by having a 14 month year with the extra month
    containing only 1 or 2 days - following the leap year pattern. The 14th month would
    always be a holiday as you suggest. Giving everyone an extra holiday every
    four years would probably be enough motivation to get it adopted.
