But couldn't we make these more like cell phones? I see a lot of people walking around with bluetooth headsets. Rather than making the hearing aide fit in the ear, make it something I can wear on my belt, or on a lanyard. The problems of size, power and heat all become easier to solve.
Drug dealer shoots innocent bystander is not protected by Stand your Ground law. Only the perp's relatives cannot sue. That is assuming the dead person is found to be the perp. Stand Yorur Ground laws say I don't have to retreat from an aggressor, not I'm allowed to be an aggressor and shoot whomever I want.
Show me one case where an aggressor or a felon (drug dealer) shot anyone and got away with it because of a "stand your ground law".
Now, I'm not actually in favor of "Stand your Ground". I think a weapon holder should be required to retreat if possible. But blaming "Stand Your Ground" laws in this or other cases is silly. As the parent said "cite one case".
Zimmerman is charged. Not because he "stood his ground" but because he initiated the confrontation. 2nd degree murder is the right charge. The court will decide if he is guilty.
"Florida's Stand Your Ground law explicitly creates immunity for wrongful death suits." from an aggressor or his family or his estate. Not from anyone else.
Mod parent up please. Also the relatives of the victim will successfully sue the perp for wrongful death. A decent gun safety course will teach you that every bullet you send down range has a lawyer attached to it hoping it damages something it should not.
I remember that. It did get a little press. The bodyguard in the front passenger seat was wearing a belt and lived. Everybody else got a closed casket funeral.
and wear the belt/shoulder harness. I know two people that totaled full size American pick-ups in collisions with trees (the both swear it was the tree's fault). One got a broken kneck from the airbag. The other was unscathed; the truck was built before airbags were required in pick-ups.
A fire captain told me that he had never seen a dead body in a car accident with a person wearing the belt/should harness. He'd seen a lot of dead bodies in car accidents where deceased had no belts on.
I bought a brand new, unlocked Samsung GSM phone on ebay. $30. No camera. I also buy minutes a $100 at a time. Those minutes seem to last about a year.
It's nice to hear from someone who has it worse than me.. Most of my colds turn into sinus infections which can hold on for many weeks. Antibiotics clear them up within days.
What we really need is a special copyright for Mickey and the rest of the Disney characters so that The Walt Disney Company can stop lobbying to extend all copyrights.
Big leap from "no significant difference in symptoms between patients taking amoxicillin to those who took the placebo" to "Antibiotics Are Useless In Treating Most Sinus Infections". How many bugs are resistant to amoxicillin at this point? How many of the patients had bacterial infections?
The people that want them here (employers) don't want them here legally. If they are here legally, employers would have to treat them fairly. If they have to treat them fairly, they may as well hire citizens.
The powers that be do not want this "solved". It is such a great issue to leave open and unresolved. Think how both sides can rile up their "base". Those evil democrats what to let "illegals" steal your jobs! Those evil republicans want to make hard working immigrants "illegal".
The solution is easy and clear. Either make it illegal to hire them and prosecute those that do, or give them some sort of legal status. Neither solution will be implemented.
We could over come the fear of 13 by having a 14 month year with the extra month containing only 1 or 2 days - following the leap year pattern. The 14th month would always be a holiday as you suggest. Giving everyone an extra holiday every four years would probably be enough motivation to get it adopted.

People kvetch about their jobs!
Shocking film at 11!
I don't have mod points, but I was going to point out the same.
Motivated parents. Lean administration. No interference from politicians.
As in we will sell our freedom for safety and security? Or at least for the illusion of safety and security.

We use a lot of open source where I work and pay for support.
I don't think most individuals will pay for it.

Going to Craigslist to find a hooker
is about as bright as
going to Craigslist to find a soulmate.
There are better specialized web sites for both.
Wait, did I just post that....

Take a diesel Mercedes. Strap it on top of a rocket. Launch it into
earth orbit for a year or two. Land it back on earth.
Get in and start driving. Your not allowed to refuel it, service it,
change the tires, or even add air to the tires.
Good luck. The Mercedes I know about need pretty regular
service by a specialized technician.
Oh, and I'd like the Mercedes to drive itself with a multi-second lag
between any command you send it and receipt of said command.
I remember hearing that before....
Oh wait, that was about the PC.
