    . Someone commented that decades ago, we were told that in future (that's now) the work week would be shorter and living standards higher. Yes, we said that in the 60's and 70's. So why didn't that happen? If we had kept the 35% unionization rate we had back then, it would have.

    OR is it because of the unions??

    being in a union doesnt make you care about the company you work for, it makes you care about the union you belong to. you dont care if you are a parasite on the company (in the case of the UAW anyway) as long as the union strong arms them into paying you more to do less.

    fed ex is claiming that it might be illegal to do so (which is wrong), has nothing to do with political views.

    In fact, if fedex came out and claimed it was their views, im sure cody would simply say ok, and use UPS without much of an issue

    Argue with the law if you want (although the law makes a lot more sense than geeks like to think), but don't argue from a position of ignorance.

    the problem is you are correct. but it is fedex who is the one arguing from the position of ignorance. There is nothing wrong with a CNC machine, in fact, that is the argument everyone loves to bring up when pointing out that 3d printing is not going to change things because people could ALWAYS do it on their own.

    well now everyone knows he has a product. and i doubt UPS will refuse his money. so it is a win win for them, while at the same time painting fedex in a bad light (regardless of this being their "right")

    if the product is leagal (as a CNC mill is) there is no legit reason for a shipping company not to take the package.

    On that same note, not all private censorship is bad. For example if someone is having a comic convention. they may "censor" people trying to sell baseball cards

    If i go to a football game at lembo field, im not selling jerseys for the carolina panthers. thats censorship however, but there is nothing wrong with it

    the constitution has not been amended last time i checked. therefore anything tomorrow that is found unconstitutional, will have been unconstitutional from the start, if the program has started after the last constitutional convention.
