    you clearly dont remember when cell phones were new and 99% of them came with the dock by default, now its a 50$ accessory

    My past 3 phones on 2 year contracts had micro usb, Id say thats a fairly long time in computer years

    The appeal to me anyway is te fact that I could livestream video that is what I see, not off center not on a clunky helmet. This would be very useful in many situations from the simple, family time to the protests in the streets.

    Because they put a lot of work into their studies, they should have a short headstart to process that information. The public should most certainly get the work that it pays for and IMO 6 months is perfectly fair.

    I was wondering the same, when I first read the headline I had visions of friends setting up partitions on each others hard drives and do cloud storage between mom,dad,sister,brother,grandparents,friends

    redundancy for family photos for instance on all family computers for instance. obviously private storage as well. the odds of all computers going down at once in multiple locations is highly unlikely. p

    as I said before, that depends on where here and there is. a straight downhill 75 mile drive will be less on gas than a twisty uphill drive at 50. only point is that slower != more efficient.

    except for chances are those 1st 10% would most likely be reinfected before they had enough time to worry about it.

    I truly do not understand how so many people can be infected yet not know it. I have had a virus, Ive had trojans, Ive been hit with it all, but to the extent that my machine was messed up or being controlled by someone else? hardly the second my mother has more than a few tabs open and her game slows down, i get a call to look at it, usually it is nothing, but once or twice there has been an issue, not a dehibilitating issue but an issue. A little common sense goes a LONG way people

    I have not been keeping up on this, so If I read you correctly, All a user would need to do (assuming they were literate enough to get networking..and not know they were infected, is remap the DNS section of their IP config to resolv the issue? or will this virus re-remap it back to the bogus dns?

    true, I hate having to deal with tech support and I get annoyed at people trying to force me to do things. having said that, having a default page that tells you your machine is messed up is a little bit different. I say hell, even let them keep using it, just make them see the msg and hit ok (frames maybe?) I know the hardcore crowd will claim the ISPs are hijacking or snooping or whatever, yeah, thats exactly whats going on in my scenario, and probably one of the only few exceptions to snooping I would be ok with because your PC being infected does in fact affect me.

    It would be an analogy if we were actually destroying anything. We arent. A better analogy would be columbus traveling to the "new world" and the diseases that wiped out the natives.

    there are no natives, as such, its apples and oranges.

    I dont disagree that the scientific value of an un poluted sample is way better off, but your comparision and what is/would actually happen is way off base

    I noticed that as well, I also am not one to really care if our bacteria spreads on other planets. If anything it will just help contibute to the futher survival of "life" in the solar system
