With all the cancerous death rays bouncing around now, I have to ask - is there a possibility of major health concerns, and have they been fully examined? I just have some reservations about shooting electricity around my house.
So, the idea of an affordable car for everyone is invalid because it was Hitler's, or do you have a real argument against it? Hitler MAY have invented Microsoft.
Actually - as someone who plays guitar - I can't fully agree with your comment. Although, in part, being good at Rockband is not going to make you a better guitarist, I believe it does help beginners move their fingers independently. Which is one of the early battles people face when trying to learn how to play guitar correctly.
I can't really say the same thing for drums or singing. On a side note, has anyone actually used the microphone yet, and is it really lame?
Thanks for the support - I disagree as well. The only point I was making is that Linux hasn't really faired too well on the desktop, maybe this would be an opportunity to examine some of those things that it's doing wrong. Bottom line, we've all been corrupted by the desktop experience. We have certain preconcieved notions that develop based on our experiences. For example, the "X" in the top right corner closes an application in Windows and in KDE and Gnome. These people have no experience with the desktop, how intuitive will they find these options? My guess is not at all. I think companies pushing Linux should treat this as a case study to developing a more overall intuitive interface.
Oh Wait... I'm not marked as a troll yet... ummmmm.... MS RULES!!! There, that outta do it.
"oh my god, I CAN AFFORD THIS!!!" Doesn't seem like it'll ever make it to the States though... doesn't it have to be over a certain size and emit a lot more pollutants into the air?
they don't prove the kids were DRINKING and even if they did, unless you are caught COMMITTING the act, the police can do nothing (except maybe stake out your party spot for next time!) Actually, that depends on what state you're in. There are a few states, namely my native Pennsylvania, that have some strange and in my opinion rather questionable laws concerning alcohol. One of these laws is called "Constructive Possession". Not sure how widely used this law is in other states, but it essentially means if you are in the presence of alcohol and you're under the age of 21, you can be charged. Aside from that, they weren't really charged based on actual criminal law, legally - I doubt cops could arrest anyone based just on this kind of evidence.
Bottom line is that it was pretty stupid either way. A greater number of corporations and I imagine colleges are looking at social networking sites.
You'll just need to dedicate six of your eight cores in the 3GHz Intel chip for the process overhead. Well looks like I have to switch back to XP then.
I can see a possible collusion with Microsoft here. It's probably an MS Word document written in the older format that they just dropped on their new version of Office.
From what I recall, the version of Linux running on the OLPC machine is slightly watered down because of hardware limitations. I doubt those computers will be running Vista Ultimate. It's more likely they'd too be running a watered down version of Windows.
This is a good move finanicially for Microsoft. It should give them significant visibility in these developing countries. On the other hand, it should be a good test for the open source community. They'd be going head to head with MS with people who have legitimately never used either interface. It would be interesting to see which OS they pick.
Thats actually really sad. My guess is you'd be better off not voting because in reality - you're just as bad as the Bill O'Reilly's of this world. I'm republican as can be, but I've considered people on the other side when making my decision on who I'm voting for. For example, I'm considering voting for Obama (which I still think he's going to win) come the general election if Ron Paul isn't elected in the primary. Maybe I'll be modded down as a troll or whatnot, but at least I actually have the decency to look across the aisle (and quite frankly, I wouldn't vote for a Presidential canidate who didn't have that same decency).
I don't really understand that title here. MS Sharepoint in no way competes with Google even with enterprise search capability. As far as I've seen, Google has no equivalent to enterprise search. Better yet, I should say Google has no equivalent yet. This is not to say they aren't going to dive into this market.
From what I've seen, Sharepoint will benefit from searching capability a great deal, and although it pains me to say this, Sharepoint is actually a half decent product in its own right.
I would buy a big car and live in it. Sleep your way to work, do your homework on the way to school, commute from Vegas to Denver every day. Screw a house- that money is now gas money. If only wireless broadband were faster... You're going to wait until 2018. Hell I do this now!
While this is true, Comcast has been widely known to throttle torrent traffic. As a customer, I cannnnnnnnnnot wait until FIOS is available in my area.
Yeah Bill Gates has never come out with a successful product... not once.... ever.

...copies of Windows ME. Not even underprivledged children from third world countries would want THAT!Thanks for the support - I disagree as well. I'm writing my own article on worst navigation by a Web site. This PCWorld page will clearly be number 1 on my list.

Before the boogeyman goes to sleep, he first checks to see if Chuck Norris is in his closet.
From what I've read both parties are expected to spend well over a billion dollars on campaigns.
Chuck Norris's tears cure cancer. It's too bad he's never cried.

Yahoo killed all of the web!?!?!
