With the Internet, and human life in general having spread to all corners of the globe, I dont think you really should be able to patent something anymore. It's just that information is spread too thin, and therefor no one can be sure what has and hasnt been done.
Anyone know of an organization of some sort that's working toward the end of patents? if you do, please E-Mail me.
I dont know much about physics, even though I've got a theory on the universe, but I think I read somewhere that the Cosmological Constant was something Al E threw in to allow for the presence of aether(..sp?) to work out. Because we all accept the absence of aether.. I think, now, The Cosmological Constant is unneccessary.
I was going to post to the message before this but now that I'm here I'll just go on: If An Infinite Ammount of Energy was released durring the 'Big Bang' then That would account for the throwing out of matter not slowing down, And the idea that the dimensional universe hadnt formed yet would account for the lack of infinite speeds.
Ok, so that's Bull, but It may be correct and so nya. Ignore that, really, I was rambling.
But really, my take on it is that Matter was thrown in all directions durring the big bang, including time. The reason it hasnt seemed to slow down any is because we're travelling through time slower, too. Ta,da.
1) Inflation theory does not contradict the round universe theory, it just makes it more annoying.
2) To the inflation theory I must say BAH! and that is a very deep throated ba wich comes from the very center of my being.
Just because Matter is going outward in all directions does NOT MEAN the universe is expanding.
I say that the universe is infinite, and that infinity is a highly probable state of anything, via unlogic (Dont go to unlogic.html right now because recent realizations and rephrasings have not yet made it to the web).
Matter May in some way "Create" dimensions, including time, but I, as are many others, am unsure. It is possible that the Universe is Infinite, And that matter within is flying out in all directions from the center (Yes, Infinite Distance can have a center, It just doesnt meet up with many of the requirements that we come to expect a center to have.)
But one thing I've always disliked about the round universe Idea, is that whenever people find that something is infinite (And therefore not technically having a center) they tend to say it loops around. The worst example is Time, Wich has a near-absolute beginning point, And a not-all-too definate line wich twists into (Unless something undesirable happens) infinity.
For millenia, and still I find, today, people believe[d] that time is a loop.
And even the sign for infinity is, if you havent noticed, A closed loop.
Until we learn to accept Infinity as Infinity, we will not be masters of the universe.
Well Ok, good point, let's travel by creating a warp drive! No.. wait.. we need to know if the universe is flat first.. sorry. And if you cant see the logic in that, you really need to pick up a few books
Create a Platoform wich can move in any direction, in about a 10 ft diameter, (This alone is hard enough, but let's ignore that for a second)
The platform itself stays in the same place, see, but the carpeting or whatever that is on it, does. Ok, now that we have this odd platform with a mobile surface, We let the person start walking around, and translate his motion into the VR world through a Video Camera.
Wow, That was pointless, Wasnt it? I mean Obviously this platform wont move just because he's walking, right?
Right. Now shut up for a second, because that's not the point.
Now whenever he gets too close to the edge, or pauses to scratch his butt or something, Then you move the top of the platform so he is now back in the center of the platform.
You can now move wherever you want, and no one can do anything about it, HA!
But dont try using this idea, because even though it's obvious and easy to come up with on your own, I'm going to try and patent it.
I pick a password so obscure and meaningless that it cant help but be remembered. One that I dont use anymore is "cr02a". I saw it on my hard drive once and the name was so meaningless (I means cursor resource: version 2, file a) that my brain just couldnt help but remember it.
Ok fine, so it's not flawless, but I've never forgotten one using this method. The first time I used this was when I saw an obscure encryption in a book I dont know the name of and didnt even mean to open. It was so odd, I made myself memorize it. I didnt really know why, but within weeks I was using it as a password. That didnt last long, because I later used it as a folder name for a web page after I couldnt come up with a name for my page, but still. It works. I like it. And no one else knows what I'm talking about.
But last I checked, Cancer isnt a Sentient form of life, so I think wiping it out instead of living in peace with it is a better idea.
And after reading all the postings on the HIV != AIDS thread, I just thought I'd mention this in relation to cancer.
What Causes cancer? Well it's been suggested it was technology, Electromagnetics from our every day devices. Others say the exagerated expectations of Chrenoble and Nagaski, etc, werent that far off after all. Either way, It's obvious we're all killing ourselves. Does this mean stop using technology? Dear Lord no. It just means no more nuclear war, and fewer microved pizzas. As one of the many Computer Users who has found a hightened sensitivity to Electormagnetics, I think It's obvious that we're using too damn much of this stuff. So let's all minimize our technology, Bring out those 1CM^2 15GHZ processors and we'll all be fine
The above may seem like a rambling of random thoughts. I'm pretty sure it was. But embeded deep within the rambling is a point. No, deeper than that, keep looking. I'm almost entirely sure that it's in there
Yes, of course. Did anyone know differently? Voyager was an attempt. and a bad one. an attempt at what I cant say, if you dont know from just the word "attempt" then well.. I cant help you.
The problem with Star Trek is that it got too big to do any good anymore. it's like.. oh.. I dont know, star trek.
It started out small, a Constitution Class vessel that had just breached the great barrier and through this had gained several crewmembers that were able to strangle people with power cables and such. That was great, simple, small. the edge of the galaxy! I mean imagine that- yhow can we do bigger? And then throughout the serii it got bigger.. and bigger, And eventually the entire galaxy was taken, and colonized, and such. And now we're getting time travel and transwarp and aliens that can do anything but like to pick on humans, and it's just too big. If you have a solar system it's ok, until you want to go bigger, then you do so, and now you have several. Maybe even a galaxy isnt too bad, as long as you play your cards right. But with Multiple Galaxys all of wich travel through time and can go wherever they want- it just loses it's point it's something that can no longer be televised.
Everything has it's curve. Most are straight up then down, or just straight down. Star Trek has been choking us and beating us to death for far too long to be fun anymore.
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to watch voyager.
No way I can say my thoughts on the government in here without cursing in all caps for 5 paragraphs, so instead I'll say that the fact that this was ever a law is just another sign that this country needs to be invaded, taken over, and then reclaimed by it's people, who then form a new and better government.
As a Proud Consumer of about 50 ounces of Caffene Daily, I must Strongly Protest. Well.. Technicly my problems are with short term memory, But Without my short term memory, I have no long term memory;)
Perhaps the Study is Flawed. After all, Most caffene users have things like notepad and uh.. notepad, to refrence to. Isnt that the real thing here?
Standard Christian Beliefs are Based on the Idea that God Created the Universe, And then Man.
Evolution States Man Evolved from bleh or Whatever.
Unless you Believe in Mars=Eden theories.. but enough on that:)
We have plants and Animals and Stuff that All show signs that Evolution Exists.
Fact: Evolution Through Natural Selection or other Unknown means DOES EXIST. This has been proven as an Absolute Fact, through observation. if you deny this, It is not Faith in your god, It is just an unwillingness to accept that wich is real, In wich case you might as well attempt to fly.
Did man Evolve from Something? I'm willing to bet on it. It's been proven that man, too, Is Evolving. We dont know if man was once something else, Because we tend not to have any records of Prehistoric Times.
I think that all signs besides Faith that man was sprung out of nothing in seven days point toward evolution, through some means.
Does this really go against Christian Belief that much?
I think not.
You have to, You MUST admit that The bible is in many ways innacurate, Unless you Believe that the World is flat, And the Sky is just a Vast Ocean above us. Some of the Bible may be true. But some of it was simply made up as an Explanation for things that man did not understand.
The Bible says god Gave man the Breath of Life. The Bible Also says god made man's physical self. Well let's just say Man Evolved. Then One Day God came along and Gave Monkeys or whatever the breath of life- Their Spirit. Their Conciousness. (How many of you reading this right now are thinking 2001?:) In that sense, Does evolution theory really disagree with your beliefs that much? Enough to Deny the Teaching of something that has been Proven as Fact?
'God' May have created the Universe, wich lead to the comming of man, But God did not Create man in Seven Days.
No, no. Not based on the same principle of "Not Enough Murderers" so stay with me.
The Government is Anti-Education. That's always been a Principle of life. If there is a way to cause pain, Make sure no one knows about it.
That's the kind of thing that's holding our planet, back as a whole.
A Freedom of Information is something we all need, but no one is willing to give.
You can Kill a man, Fine, Do it, I dont care. But Torturing them to death by not letting them know how to end the pain is just not right.
Leagalize Drugs, Just think through the Logic that if you're using them for pleasure maybe you should try something else. And if there's nothing else, Fight Back until there is.
Hacking is just another thing the Government doesnt want you to do, Because of Fear. It's simple, primitive, Fear that holds us all back. It's their fear that if they let anyone Hack, then maybe, Just maybe, A few of those people will find something in it they like. Something that brings them actual Joy. The Art of Learning something they didnt already know.
And with that comes the spark that will give a new generation something to look up to. That maybe they dont have to Grow, And then Die, Never even opening their eyes.
The Governments of the world are all founded under one purpose: Control.
That in itself is Acceptable. But that Control Builds, And it grows, And it Evolves. But unlike Natural Evolution it does not follow the course that brings better life. It follows the course of the Original and Half-Stated Goal: Control.
All Educational Systems are Founded on the Idea of Giving The Next Generation what They Need to Continue, And in some, Even to Grow Beyond what they had.
But None, As I have seen, Are set up to Allow for Evolution Beyond what Anyone has.
And What allowed for that to happen?
The Ability to take apart what was and Rebuild it as your own more grand design?
The Freedom of Knowledge?
The Freedom of Thought?
Hackers gave us something, And their call must be heard.
No, I'm not a hacker. At least not in the accepted Sense. I am a Hacker of the Mind. A Hacker of Thought. I do not Invade and take over, I disasemble and resequence the patterns that have become us.
I can only hope that on some small scale I am Able to Spread my thoughts. A Freedom of Information is something we All must fight for. It is something Places like Slashdot Encorage. And I am surprised that some here would encourage the Destruction of Freedom.
I'm almost completely sure there was a meaning to that. Although I may have sub-conciously typed a raving rant.

I read that in a Heinlein book, I dont know where he got it from, it sounded like he was quoting, too.
Personally, as the story continues, I would not want to flip the switch. How the story continues is that there is so much risk, although so much gained, they send it into space and eventually move it to the far side of the moon.
But if we create a Black Hole that isnt far enough. And what do we gain? Knowledge is not worth more than the Bystander's family.
If you want to learn, that's fine, But let's learn something else first, Like Mass Transference via Matter/Energy conversion or Hyperspace. I have some theories on that Involving ZeroG, Vacuum, and Kelvin0... but that's another post:)
Then set up a lab in a distant corner of the galaxy, beyond the fringe, and do whatever you want.
Before risking a farm by building a channel, you get consent of the farmer. Before risking the Solar System by building a research facility, you get consent of the solar system. Wich means building a few mars rockets and Jupitor Shuttles to check all the areas unknown...
"..And other such nonsence.." I'm not done, but that's it for now.
Unless of course you and a friend have 100 CD's you want to trade...
But why would you go through all that? If you're going to exchange the CD's and make sure they are not intercepted, Chances are you'll make actual Real Life Contact with the person.
even if it's just a Bump, or a Brush, to exchange the disks, you might as well exchange un-encrypted information, then dispose of it later.
It's because they want us to believe them when they say that they wont invade privacy. When we dont trust them, and use encryption, Suddenly they cant know what we're talking about, And so they ask us nicely to stop Encrypting things, Not that they want to look at what a nice day you're having and how is your mother doing, They just dont want you to encrypt anything.. yeah.. that's logical, right?
How do they even know when people are using "Illeagal" encryption unless they're violating privacy in the first place?
What's next? will it now be illeagal to write letters in a language that the National Security Adviser doesnt understand?
If it becomes illeagal to protect ourselves, that will only bring on better methods of doing so.
But wait, Look at it this way: If you make using encryption illeagal, what will that do? Arent the people they want to catch, but cant, because of encryption, already breaking the law?
This is just further proof that the Gov't just doesnt want encryption, so it can invade our privacy more easily.
Well the subject should explain the post by itself. Last I heard, the most that's been able to fit in a Human Eye was 16*16 points (This does not include the method of Shining Laserlight directly onto the retina) with 800*600 now about the size of a human eye, It cant take much more development for then to fit something like a 640*480, or at least a 320x into an Eye, now can it? Getting it to function is a different matter, but still, it is just another step to getting true sight into the eyes of the blind. On a side note, is anyone else reminded of Brazil when they hear about this small screens? Personally, I think it would be great to use one of these, and replace my monitor with a small frame for the screen, and a lightweight magnifying lens to get it up to my current 15" Next: 1024*768 on the head of a Pin!
Personally, I'm too paranoid to overclock. Someday, when They open up an apartment complex in orbit around a deep space asteroid somewhere, I'll move there, then hang my motherboard outside the window for a Natural Kelven Zero;)..Although Upgrades would be a Pain... But then, Who needs upgrades? By that time, I'll be using a 233thz Computer, +the overclock would make 600thz at least. Can you Say Lethal CD Drives? If not, I hope you can read it, 'cause there it is.
Drop Prices? Are you kidding? You want these people to make less than 400$ profit from each chip sold? How will they feed their families??
I really hope they Do drop prices. Everything is overpriced these days. People "Getting Away" with raising their prices, set the example for other companies to do the same, Therefor creating the same effect as a Monopoly- and they're not allowed for a good reason.

We need to make a "No Bullshit Patents" law.
Who's with me?
As a Penalty, They now must listen to user Complaints!!
And Fix All the Bugs In their Products!
Bwuahahahahaha!
Actually, It is a Garantee that the Government will make this a bad thing for everybody, leaving no chance for Microsoft to ever correct itself
As a Side note, let's all overthrow the government and set up a new one based on the freedom of knowledge and information.
(Just to garantee a -1)

I doubt any college will Teach it better, Or Faster, than just going out for a surf will.
I used to have a book on it, too, For Refrence. It was good, But I dont remember the title. I lent it to a techie and he quickly moved...
I think it was published by netscape.

Someday, when They open up an apartment complex in orbit around a deep space asteroid somewhere, I'll move there, then hang my motherboard outside the window for a Natural Kelven Zero ;) ..Although Upgrades would be a Pain...
