AFAIR, a pair of socks already costs more than a WoW subscription
But what a pair of socks! 30 years back I inherited a used pair of my grandmother's hand knit winter socks. I started working on the railway and needed heavy duty/wool socks so I bought 3 or 4 pairs from Work Wearhouse (if memory serves). Granny's old socks went into the rotation with the others. Soon the others started to get holes, then get gaping holes and then got thrown out. Granny's socks continued without change. I worked for almost 3 years on the railway and do not recall her socks ever wearing out.
The money _invested_ in knitting produces a long term benefit.
On my T-Mobile pay-as-you-go, SMS is 5 and 10 cents, not that I ever use it. The average text looks like a 3-year-old walked on the keyboard and would just get discarded as spam/gibberish.
Routinely I find that half the memory used by the browser does not show up as such in Task Manager as used by the browser -- in fact if you add all the memory usage figures it is evident that many programs/processes are not fully reporting their memory usage to Task Manager.
So I note the amount of RAM used before loading the browser, after loading all the tabs, and then after I quit the browser -- with the last measurement being the most important to me because it shows what the browser is really up to -- how much memory it used vs what it said it did AND how well it cleaned up after itself. My ideal browser would score "same" and "perfect" respectively on these, the only tests that matter to me.
Does anyone think this has anything to do with Scientology? Isn't this just "think of the children" with different clothes on? Another excuse to oppress and Big Brother us.
When these freedom suppression attempts come from different sources, the sheeple fail to see and defend themselves against the common enemy. In fact in this case they laugh at "how stupid those S people are" and feel safe!
We need to focus more on who exactly that common enemy is. Hint: it ain't any one group and it sure as heck ain't "the government".
In Portland the ticket dispenser will allow you to continue to add money (coins anyway) without adding time.
Say you are in a "2 Hour Maximum" spot, and you add coins up to 2 hours, it will increment your time and show you visually how much you have paid for in a completely fair manor. But if you add more coins beyond your limit it will accept them without increasing your time. You can see it is not incrementing the time and cancel the ripoff, but how many even notice?
There is the clue. Find ways to help others. Look after your neighbor's pets when they are gone. Trim an over-hanging tree for a 90-year-old. Pick up trash. Join a volunteer organization. Become a Big Brother/Big Sister.
Get out of your own small world and help someone in this big world. If you are still depressed, find ways to give more. To heck with 8 hours of sleep a night, someone near you is starving, under-clothed or injured -- go help them.
What I noticed (after I starting chatting/foruming online) was that I lost some of my previous ability to use the correct form of their/there/their, read/reed, write/right, hair/hare, etc. I have noticed others losing it as well. It doesn't happen all the time, but more than one would expect (i.e. never) for the average college grad. This seems to defy logic as you can see what you are typing and should be able to distinguish the correct word to use. Maybe it is because we rush to type online chat/forum posts...

People forget that Microsoft never set out to shove IE down people's throats. You didn't have 5,000 IE CD coasters sent to you in the mail like AOL and even Netscape did for years and years. (And this was even in the Win95 era when IE didn't ship on the OS.) (If anything you got MSN CDs and they were for a 'folder' based online system, and nothing to do with HTML or browsing.)
Microsoft's concept behind IE was to add HTML rendering to the Windows OS. Period. ...
This is so wrong I've gotta comment on it.
Microsoft promoted IE as a way to kill Netscape.
Microsoft embraced/extended/extinguished Navigator with IE.
Microsoft locked in from the host side to force people to use IE for many of the highest profile sites. Firefox has to go under an assumed name in order for these sites not to look like crap.
What Microsoft did with IE was so wrong that it was part of that big lawsuit way back when, that Microsoft lost (and then "won" through the typically corrupt appeal process).
Microsoft didn't peddle coasters, but what they did was far worse.
Man, the Microsoft shills just can't wait to rewrite history...
Second the Pinball game and raise you Wii Active. Williams Pinball HoF is the first pinball game to displace 3D Ultra Pinball Thrillride on my playlist. If they come out with 2 or 3 more of these I will line up to get them.
As you suggest, we stocked up on games and controls and it got the whole family using it. I've settled on Pinball (which doesn't have to be noisy...adjust your TV/monitor volume to taste), and my wife loves Wii Active. It goes a lot further than Wii Fit (which started off great but fizzled for all 5 of us) by offering a much smarter workout schedule/program, and the resistance band helps too. I think it needs to be said that Wii Fit/Active is kind of like getting a stationary bike to use for a few months until you are (back) in shape so you can ride a street bike again for more than 100 yards. I did this way back when and it is nice to see my SO doing it now.
I have also seen the Wii convert non-singers into singers. Their talent level didn't really increase, but their confidence level does.
Our youngsters are not as hooked on the Wii, in part because they are such dyed-in-the-wool gamers. This is fine because we bought it as a family investment and it has more than paid for itself in the 4 months we have had it.
Wii gaming is different from xbox/PSx/DS/gameboy/PC gaming. It is more like a amusement park carnival than an electronic game, and brings different rewards/benefits.
This page says it is a million. But wouldn't you just say $M/yr? No one would specify that a million is a mille times a mille in the unit notation, would they?
Wait, it could also be a Milliard times a Milliard. Yeah, that must be it. Hokay, so that would be ten to the 18 dollars a year. Glad I could clear that up.
Is there any drive 750GB or higher in capacity that is reliable? Half the 750GB / 1TB drives I have bought in the past year or two have failed. I am currently pinning my hopes on the 1TB Green Samsung drive that I opted for because it runs slower & cooler. Anyone have a reliable higher capacity drive recommendation?
VFAT adds long file names, which is done by using half of a given directory's entries for long filenames and the remainder as the standard 8.3 short names.
There is no simple ratio between short and long filenames on a FAT volume. Three-quarters of the way down a pretty hefty page, Wiki says:
Long File Names (LFN) are stored on a FAT file system using a trickadding (possibly multiple) additional entries into the directory before the normal file entry.
and later clarifies that up to 20 additional directory entries can be used to express a single LFN.
Also, as wiki states later on:
If a filename contains only lowercase letters, or is a combination of a lowercase basename with an uppercase extension, or vice-versa; and has no special characters, and fits within the 8.3 limits, a VFAT entry is not created on Windows NT and later versions such as XP.

(1) trojan competitor computers
(2) p0wn these computers with an "unrelated" attack
(3) sell own computers to p0wned individuals
(1) Large feature set
(2) Compact/optimized
(3) Fast to market
Pick any two...
Actually, the police chief wanting to out A/C's who don't like him is eroding public confidence.

This was true as of 2006...

RBBS was the first PC software to get updated to a teen version number. Wiki says it hit version 17.4 in 1992.

Or whirled peas.
Lithium is a heavy metal, like lead
Nope. Here's a definition of metals, alkali metals and heavy metals and here is the SG of Lithium.
Wait a minute, this sounds more like DMCA territory. I think the Feds should be involved.
Why does OpenDNS do this? Doesn't this bring them humungous(/humongous?) amounts of traffic (that I can't imagine how they would monetize)?

Emphasized that for you.
Narcberry 1, Slashmob 0.
A command prompt is like a *nix shell, whereas the Windows Terminal allowed you to telnet in the pre-Internet days.
I suspect you don't realize who you are messing with. 151 is a palindromic prime (but then again so is one of the factors of 179040). Never mind.
