One of my favourite things about the internet is that most things are free. Usually this is because they are supported by advertising. The main reasons people hate ads are because they disrupt viewing and consume resources. Consider whether it's really necessary to block the text and image based ads, or only the Flash based ones. Even if ABP is ported to Chrome, I will continue to use only FlashBlock.
Couldn't one of the lawyers push for a mistrial if there is an error in the jury's instructions? I know something similar happened in the Jammie Thomas case.
The problem is that almost no-one has heard of it, outside of lawyers, etc. Why doesn't the defendant or his lawyer ever mention it? It's a factual statement that potentially offers him a way out.
His email address is...@ovi.com. Ovi is the name of Nokia's internet services brand, so it looks like this is just astroturfing. (That said, I do agree that the N900 is phenomenal and plan on buying one soon)
Bit-tech also took a look at the graphical differences, arriving at this conclusion: "You'd need a seriously keen eye and brown paper envelope full of cash from one of the creators of Dirt 2 to notice any real difference between textures in the two versions of DirectX."
I've seen it, and the difference is like night and day! Well worth the extra $$$. On a completely unrelated note, I have never seen so much green in one little brown package.
the majority of Android handsets came in from overseas using our grey import law
What 'grey import laws' are you referring to? I was planning to get my next phone in a similar fashion, but I am unaware of any laws pertaining to this...
How would they stop you? Androids, iPhones (once jailbroken), Windows Mobile, Symbian, Maemo, etc. all let you run your own apps. How hard would it be to write one (and port it to all the above platforms) that implements this with a common/standardized protocol? Just combine the program with a browser and you don't even need to worry about messing around with the OS
I've got nothing against people that believe there is a higher power, but you won't find a lot of Christians that believe just that without believing in all the provably false claims in the Bible?
More than half of all Christians are part of the Roman Catholic Church, which does not believe in creationism or any of the other 'provably false claims' you refer to. Books such as Genesis are seen as largely symbolic, and in my experience when the RCC does attempt to influence public policy, they do so using secular arguments, even if their motivation for doing so is founded in religious beliefs (e.g. the abortion controversy).
Or you could just use fansubs. From a legal point of view, they're (unauthorized) derived works of the originals, so they're typically only available on IRC/BT. It's worth noting though that many studios turn a blind eye to them since it's effectively free marketing to a demographic they wouldn't have reached otherwise. It's also worth noting that you can learn a surprising amount of Japanese simply by watching a lot of fansubs, though you'll be nowhere near fluent in it.
These users utilize more complex video (even if they don't know it). By bringing them in and getting a good solid player that works for them, you would -in theory- improve the video player for all users
The 'more complex video' the parent refers to is the.mkv container, which is used since it allows the video to contain audio and subtitles in both Japanese and English. It also seems to be the most commonly used with HD content, since it supports h264 (the newer content from Japan is increasingly in 1080p). I've never had any problems using SMPlayer, but the version in the main repositories is outdated - you have to add a PPA to get the latest version, something that can hardly be seen as user friendly. Most anime sites recommend *against* VLC, since it's performance can be a little lackluster.
tldr: Just replace Totem with SMPlayer, or at least keep an update version of SMPlayer in the repositories.
I've just finished my 13 years of primary + secondary education, and we *never* covered long division of numbers. We did, however cover long division of polynomials, and while I was able to learn that (although I quickly discarded it, having developed a form of short division) I never did figure out how to apply it to numbers.
+1 Insightful

I find that FlashBlock works fine. It's easy enough to ignore text and static image ads, and almost no one uses gifs anymore.
What would you do if this happened?

You'd win that bet: http://damnprinter.com/wp-content/uploads/BloodInk_tn.jpg
If I ran my country (and I really think I should)
Here's one way to go about it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Principality_of_Hutt_River
Get a law passed that requires the 'anonymous tip' to be stored as part of the evidence. If it's a phone call, record it, etc.

Hint to mods: +1 obscure movie reference

Have you tried using corks?

Apparently everyone uses Dells.

Disclaimer: I am a member of the RCC

That won't get you any anime dubbed in English, or even subbed. Fansubs are usually the only English versions available.
Well since he likes outdated units, it's probably engraved in stone

You think that's bad? Try ordering something from Australia.
You make it sound as though they already know one...
No

Let me save you some time:
it's 50% 1, 50% 0, and 50% i.
Unfortunately, that just means the next ones will be Orwellians.
