I truly doubt that none of your acquaintances or any of their acquaintances watches porn. It's not as if not knowing they watch it means no one does it. Do you have some sort of neighborhood porn investigation network in which you and your buddies talk about their abstinence from porn or something?
That's great except I would probably say at least (internet figure) 90% of people do not make use of a compost pile (live in apartments, don't grow their own produce, etc) and therefore much is left for the city to pick up. If this was turned into something more tangible for the general public like fuel, its use would become far more prevalent.
Original offender claimed the machine was broken. People commonly just want to get rid of their old broken electronics and don't really care about the price so long as it is gone. I mean hey, it's broken and they're getting rid of it so they don't have to recycle it, and they're even getting some money out of the deal. (It's a win-win)
I've bought several laptops and computers from friends and family that were really good machines but were broken in one way or another but already replaced them (ones screen was cracked, one had a faulty hard drive, liquid spilled on one and wouldn't start anymore, fried memory) and once you fix them, they're good as new.
I doubt they're making a decent profit on them. I think this has more to do with various stock parts they have to make them with and also good faith for those who wanted one but missed the sale.
To be honest I'm quite upset they no longer have the "notify me" link on the product page anymore. I was considering putting myself on said list but since this was merely to get rid of stock I "knew" they weren't going to have more. Now I'll have to be even more diligent because those who requested notifications are actually going to get them.
I actually really wanted one, strictly for web browsing. I don't care if it won't have apps or support in the future, though the projects going around to put Android on them will certainly add value to something I only wanted to a browser anyway.
That's hilarious. I actually saw a drawing going for $132 at the time of close (with bids mind you). I wonder if someone actually thought it was a real TouchPad?
Looking at who he claimed copyright against seems to indicate he just didn't want companies SELLING his speech. Obviously the details of why he did it in particular is lost to time, but I doubt King wanted such control over his speech such that no one could hear it without his permission.
Of course I hate to say it but this seems to be a case of a greedy family. Their relative did something amazing and they're hoping to profit on it for years to come by keeping it out of the hands of the commoners and forcing us to purchase it. This is such an old concept that it's kind of sad.
Doubt all you want; there is no in game web browser in World of Warcraft. World of Warcraft's user interface is 100% customizable via lua scripting. You can do a ridiculous amount of things with it.
I'd personally rather the villages get taken out if they serve no real purpose other than being there and rotting. If I want to create an adventure, I'd rather make my own villages anyway.
There's nothing particularly earth shattering here. They create art in the form of private islands and then rent said art for profit. This isn't exactly a new phenomenon. They just make a decent chunk of money doing it.
This does not appear to be some mandatory program. It seems to be a complementary service so well known people can show they are who they say they are for the benefit of other users. I mean when you go to a social networking site and search some celebrity, do you really think the 500 results with pictures of the same person are all legit?
It's not even available to us regular folk yet, and may never be for that matter.

They must have done a number on that DNS server to keep it in this state for 14 years.
This looks like the antithesis to a sandcrawler.

Okay I clicked that link and noticed there's like 400 "drawings" of the touchpad for sale. Why is everyone doing this?

Sorry you feel that way. I still can't wait.
If that's true then I can't wait to get one of those. I've always been wanting to build an ultra small computer to do some basic stuff.
Can't tell if trolling or just stupid.

...what?
Does it actually state that anywhere? Because that has to be the most ridiculous part of the law.
You don't speak for all "real gamers", no.
Damn that's expensive, but it looks really sharp. I really like the idea behind the multitouch panel to the right of the keyboard.
I'm not even a big Linux guy, but this quote just makes me giggle.
I’m doing a (free) operating system (just a hobby, won’t be big and professional like gnu) for 386(486) AT clones.
It's nice to see Linux has come so far from such humble origins! Here's to hoping it becomes even bigger.
~Whoosh~

At least we don't have to deal with1,200,000ms latency.
Everybody knows that Bill Gates invented America. Typical mac fanboys.
