Lisp is shit anyway, but for different reasons. And there ARE implementations of it (or bastardizations of it) that diverge pretty wildly: Scheme, Common Lisp, Emacs Lisp...
Sure, there's a difference. But many people I've shown Firefox to (yes, anecdotal, but I've heard too many similar reports to discount it) have said "but it's not Internet Explorer, so I don't want it."
Those are the aforementioned lusers, and the ones who I was referring to.
Gartner's a bunch of hacks, sure, but they've got a point. "Green means good" is something that is easily hammered into the heads of the l^Husers who'll be dumb enough to use IE7. Unless they've got a really good reason to buy from a site that isn't "Microsoft Approved," they won't.
I doubt it'll be a huge difference, but it'll be noticeable.
I don't run software that isn't vetted against rootkits, etc., and I keep very up-to-date on security issues with the operating system and associated programs.
I don't pirate software; more than half of the problems I see when I'm fixing computers comes from downloading cracks, etc. from unsafe sources and getting infected.
I remain behind a hardware firewall with zero inbound ports.
I don't accept media from others. If someone wants to give me a file, they can do so via e-mail, not a potentially infectious flash drive or CD.
(Obviously these cannot always hold when using a laptop--and mine runs Linux.)
I've never understood either the single-click or focus-follows-mouse preferences. I've tried it (my main desktop's running a Kubuntu Edgy install) and I just can't stand it.
I run XP SP2, Kapersky, and run an antivirus/antispyware (Avast and Spybot) about once every month.
I've never had a virus infection on this machine or my previous machine. The only virus I've ever gotten was one back in the days of Windows 95, when my parents plugged my computer directly into a 'net connection and I didn't yet know how to protect the computer properly.
People who know what they're doing don't get infected. You are wrong.
Strange, I can do all that stuff instantly and without thought to the process in Windows. (Here's a hint: a lot of MDI applications have a SDI mode, if you RTFM.)
The things I can do in Windows also translate instantly to most of the desktop environments of Linux/BSD.
I understand that some people never got over the little-kid drooling of eyecandy and have to have things whooshing around the screen to feel comfortable with their OMG SPACE AGE TEKNOWLEDGEY, but others like it to just happen.
And you get two hardware mouse buttons on your laptop.;)
Though honestly, if Apple brought back the trackball mounted on the laptop, I would probably buy one (and immediately nuke OS X in favor of Windows and Linux).
But it's okay when Democrats commit murder.
LifeDrives suck in general. I have a Zire 72s and it's wonderful.
Trust me, we're more glad.
I bought Opera, so I wouldn't say so.
I've yet to see one remotely good reason to use Exploiter, though.

Sorry. Never used 2003. I think the last one I used is 2000.
These days, I spend my time on Linux, so I've got OpenOffice.

What's the appeal?
Which version? Some versions have allowed it, or been SDI-only.
Repeat after me.
after me.
They allow gas-powered airsoft guns, though. Those very well could kill someone.
I wish I had mod points for this post. I'm no Windoid (hell, typing this on Edgy right now), but the Slashbots need a good kicking once in a while.
No, everyone who uses Windoze gets infected.

Exactly. It goes like this:
Carter Bush baked potato
But the C library does its job well. Java does not.
How's the water where you live? The polonium tasting all right? The people who don't like Comrade Putin taking their prescribed doses of lead pills?
Come ON. Putin's a scumbag.

Like the entire rest of the world, I've never heard of it before now.
I guess I'm ahead of the game, though, because the entire world doesn't read Slashdot.

The owners of the pairs might get annoyed.
Unless you're thinking of Total Recall, in which case you are a scary person.
Hey, just because he uses a Mac doesn't mean he's..."festive." ;)
(Yes, yes, just kidding.)
Hey, I hadn't heard about that one.
;)
Posting AC is lame, though. Haven't you ever felt the need to let your karma roast?
