These anti-industry posts are all nice and logical and stuff, but the problem is that most of the world doesn't have the sense to think this way and are the sheep that the industry wants them to be. As long as this is true, they'll be able to stuff anything they want to down the rest of our rebellious throats .
Slow down there cowpoke. Your fingers can't keep up with your noggin it seems. I think you meant to say , "yadda yadda...is to keep you FROM playing it."
...this is the Howard Stern show and we're playing guess the fake story with Mike Walker from the National Enquirer. Well, this is obviously the fake story. Especially since there's no mention of MS intervening and giving these folks the beat down.
Just another example of the legal system overstepping its bounds to reinforce the notion that if you don't have a lawyer you're screwed. Lawyers taking care of lawyers.
According to International Survivors Action Committee's (ISAC) website, Sue Scheff's organization P.U.R.E has had numeruous complaints by the parents of children she referred to a particular home/school (Whitmore Academy) for troubled teens. It sounds as if the parents have a beef as the school in question is under investigation for child abuse. I only hope the ACLU gets involved somehow because if this judgement stands it sets a very dangerous precedent. Especially in light of the fact that the defendant may have had every reason to disparage Ms. Scheff and her organization.
I just bought a 26" Sharp LCD HDTV ($699 at COSTCO) and it's friggin' magnificent. Take my word, please, HDTV is AWESOME. Games look super sweet on them, but watching shows produced for HDTV makes me feel like I felt when I went from dialup to broadband. I don't know how I lived without it. Especially if your are any kind of sports fan. I just surf the HDTV channels now for any kind of HDTV content that I can gaze at.
Silly in the sense that it's just a natural progression of technology. Do we need broadband instead of dialup? Need? No. Want? Hells yeah! Need isn't an appropriate word when talking about playing games. I will tell you one thing though, try playing Dead Rising on a regular TV and then on a HDTV. If you want to read anything on the screen then you NEED HDTV.
This is, or at least should be, the most obvious way to look at this issue of anti virus. Every OS producer should strive to put McAfee and Symantic out of business. It just makes sense.
As much of a tragedy the circumstances surrounding the suit are, any possible credibility the suit may have had has vanished with the hiring of Jack Thompson. Such a shame and waste of valuable time and taxpayer money if the case ever gets to trial. I'm going to assume that Rockstar et al. will file for summary judgement and probably win.
I know plenty of people who are well educated that don't have a lick of common sense. Just because someone has letters after their name doesn't automatically make them "smarter" than someone else. The sarcastic "hmmm" at the end of the article is a bogus inference that the good doctor is obviously smarter than the Stanton fellow. Ph.D. isn't necessarily tautologous with having a clue. It seems obvious to me that Mr. Stanton might have a firmer grip on reality than the book worm. The mere fact that someone would bother doing a study about the violence inherent in Pac-Man leads me to believe that they might need to reassess their life's work.
You're clueless. Why pay outrageous fees (a dollar a song?? pfft, please) for DRM restricted music when you can get unrestricted music for free? Aaargh!! RIAA be damned!! Full speed ahead maties!!

I'm just saying.
If what you say is true, then this story is complete nonsense. Unless the people behind it hate Macs.

Well lahdy freakin' dah!!
I can't wait for the light show that will be Andromeda when our two galaxies collide 10 billion years from now. How cool will that be??!
Hopefully never. I can't wait to hear the sweet sounding words: Sony filed for Chapter 11 today.

Dammit, you stole my thunder Coward. I was all over this...right after you were.
Sounds like a plan. Nice work.
Ya know, I said the same thing more succinctly 2 posts ago, but my post is still scored a zero. Stupid scoring gods hate me and I hate them.
The exchanges give plenty of time to comply so as to avoid delisting. Happens all the time.
Take that hippy! Four more years!
Death before dishonor! They'll get nothing and like it! Be strong comrades in piracy!
I don't expect anyone to care. I'll go to jail before I pay one dime to those terrorists.

The lady testified that the drive was wiped. The court document states that she testified as such.
Truer words have never been spoken. You sir, are a genius. Especially regarding the last line about myths, perceptions and so called experts.
