I think it's pretty obvious that she downloaded the music and ultimately wiped her drive. That's not really in question. But stealing music and getting rid of the evidence doesn't warrant jail time for a first time offender I wouldn't think. I would doubt she'll end up in jail, but I wouldn't give the RIAA a dime even if faced with jail time.

And piracy is just the natural response to an oppressive technology. Yes, people just want free stuff too, but there are plenty of people such as myself who are more than willing to pay a FAIR price for their music and movies along with having a FAIR USE policy to go along with said music and movies. Buying a song from iTunes, using it as background music on a slideshow presentation of personal photographs put into iPhoto, then burning the slideshow onto a CD to share with friends and family only to have that song not able to be played unless iTunes is installed on the machine the CD is played on and also MY iTunes login needing to be entered on that machine and then only being able to do that a total of 5 times so if I had more than just a couple siblings it won't work for everyone even if I jump through all those hoops just to present a nice personal photo display to a few family members.[deep breath] Needless to say I won't ever pay for a DRM encoded song ever again. It's the principle people. DRM is evil.

What is new about this statement? The state of Israel was fascist from day one. They bought the land from absentee landlords right out from under the Palestinian occupants and then forcibly removed them instead of working out a deal to live in peace together because they wanted a Jewish state. If that's not totally fubar'd I don't know what is. The Jews have wanted to kick arab ass since the beginning of time. Now they just happen to have the firepower to do so. We've (the US) have been keeping them in check, but the stupid arab radicals just keep poking Israel with a stick so what do you expect them to do? Yes, Israel has an itchy trigger finger, but they really didn't start this one. They've been playing this prisoner trading dance for so long I guess they got sick of it and I can't say I blame them. I hope they kick Hezbollah's ass right back to Iran where they belong. Those idiots have to states that are sympathetic so why can't they just live where they're wanted and leave everyone else the hell alone? Blaming Israel is like blaming a dog who bites a kids finger after he poked the dog's eye through the fence. What the hell do expect is going to happen?

As a people we possess the will and means to make a positive impact through our NGOs and charitable contributions as well as education, medicine, and shear will to do what's right. Any words to the contrary is just sour grapes. Most folks who will go out of their way to list America's faults are only jealous because they can't enjoy living in the greatest nation to ever grace this planet's face. Forget God bless America, I'm an atheist, the American people bless America with their charity, ingenuity, and the ability to know how to do the right thing even if it isn't the popular thing.
