    This print and verify method is deployed in my county in Ohio. Step 1 is to place your votes on all the available pages. Step 2 the machine flips to the first page and show you your vote, you are then instructed to look at the paper slip to the right to ensure that your recorded vote matches that which is printed. You do this for all pages, then your vote is "submitted".

    If you have a Mac, Elgato's EyeTV product keeps getting better and better with each release. There are open source add-ons for commercial skipping, exports to iTunes/iPod, ect and the interface is pretty user friendly. It won't do Netflix by itself, but if you're hooking up a media PC then you've already got access to Netflix.

    In my VW TDI full brake and accelerator causes the ECU to cut the fuel back to idle. It will not accelerate again until you completely release the brake and wait a few seconds.

    Idling a TDI when cold is not recommended. The reason that they don't heat up very fast is that they are more thermally efficient.

    If you are really concerned you could install a frost heater, which is an inline coolant heater, this would allow you to defrost very quickly.

    As far as parking the vehicle outside... I had no problems starting my car after a low temp of -20F for two days in a row. The quality of the fuel is more important than having it inside. With advances in glow plug technology cold starts are not much of a problem.

    Concrete is significantly more upfront cost. Why worry about TCO when you can focus on this years budget.

    I had the same problem. So I installed a patch (http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=330909) from Microsoft. Essentially it's looking for a continuous free area on your HD to save your RAM to. I believe the fix is to disable this "feature".

    Are you suggesting that someone can more easily brute force a 4 digit PIN as opposed to a 6 digit one?

    We're talking about introducing material into an oven to be vaporized for Mass Spec analysis. You don't want or need to deal with huge amounts of material to tell what compounds are in the soil.

    The reason a replacement part costs so much isn't due to the direct cost of that part.
    The increased cost is all part of the supply chain activities that were needed in order to get that part to you. That part must be stocked in a warehouse, counted, boxed, shipped ect.
    Your one part less cost effective to move than the box of 50,000 widgets that the manufacturer gets from its supplier.

    ISPs aren't going to turn people off as Joe Sixpack has no idea what a bot is or where spam comes from. They would probably switch providers, as it's a lot easier than cleaning your computer.

    TFA states that they are changing the hash values that the bots use to talk to one another. They aren't issuing commands, they're interrupting the communication of the bots.
