I simply don't see what this has to do with fraud.
Would it be fraud if someone said "95% payout" and then rigged a slot machine that NEVER pays out? Sure, you are willing to lose your $1 because that is the very nature of gambling, but you also expect certain rules to be followed. It's the same with auction. There are rules. If you lie and break the rules to get money from unsuspecting people you have committed fraud. By starting the auction in the first place, you have agreed to play by the rules. So you basically lied, and that's fraud.
I would like to hear the "inventor"'s explaination of this and why they shouldn't be prosecuted for perjury and/or fraud. Gautam Goenka Partho P Das

When I was in college, UC Santa Cruz had no dress code and you were free to walk around campus with no clothes on if you chose to. And some people definitely, and unfortunately, chose to.
How can these guys still be in business? It seems like every couple weeks for the past 3 or 4 years I have been hearing about them screwing shit up, over and over and over and over again. Any other company would have been history long ago. What's with Diebold? Why don't they die?
I would actually prefer idiots didn't own computers to begin with. There should be some sort of licensing requirements, like driver's licenses, for people to own and operate computers. This would solve SO MANY problems...
So it's not running OSX. Who cares? Why does it have to be running some variant of a desktop OS anyway? There are plenty of embedded OSes to choose from...
They know you are going to find a real torrent later and download it, or at least some other movies.
Uhh, how could they ever prove that in court? I could just go into court and say "By seeding a bad file, I assumed the MPAA just screwed the file up accidentally. I know the MPAA was really giving me permission to download their content."
What if the people who make BitTorrent clients have a EULA that states it is a violation to seed fake data and poison the network? Could they then sue the MPAA for violating their license agreement?
if the downloads they provide aren't copyright protected content and are in fact junk then you're not actually breaking any law because you're not actually downloading copyrighted content.
How about ditching all these lame attempts to stop 'casual copying' like CSS, DVD regions and macrovision, and then pass the savings on to the customer?
But then how will the poor Macrovision execs buy more Ferraris?
What a great stylish game. Glad to see it's making its way to XBLA.
Why was this modded troll?

when are they gonna sue Sony
Sony IS the RIAA. They would be suing themselves in effect.
But its easier to sue than it is to raise a kid.
It's easier to raise a kid with a couple extra million in your account...
Three guesses what that image was...
What kick arse engines are you referring to, specifically?
Step3 is debatable

Man's domination of light continues.
perhaps it's, "Man plays right into light's devious snare"

They can have my tubes when they pry them from my cold dead hands.
Well, there's £500m down the drain...
Bad for Comcast = Happy for me

They could copyright their junk
IBM should buy SCO and dismantle them just for spite
I think perhaps we already watch the alien version.
