You're right, everyone is tired of this conversation. So why don't you JUST FUCKING STOP.
Seriously, it's old now. If you want to avoid being modded down for shilling yourself, why don't you stop fucking shilling yourself. Pick an account, any account. Maybe Odder, seeing as it seems to have the most karma right now. After that, stop lying and talking bollocks and you may find people start respecting you again. Until then, cut the shit and stop whining, just because people have figured out this pathetic little game of yours.
It would be nice to read through the comments on an article on Slashdot without having to read 5, 6, 7 posts of yours in a row talking to each other as if they were adding value to whatever point you're making.
You said:
The notion that other platforms are less prone to malware is pure bullshit. Then you go on to argue that other platforms are less prone to malware than Windows. The argument itself was pure tripe, and you argued against a point that I didn't even make.
I can't decide whether your mother smoked when she was pregnant, dropped you on your head, or whether this is all your own work. I'm sure you can enlighten me.
The OP that ozmanjusri was referring to said that he should have installed GNU/Linux instead.
He certainly wasn't the first person in the thread to mention Linux, and I think it was a pretty natural to assume that anybody supporting the OP agreed with all his points, not just the ones he decided to comment on.
No, silly troll, I was intentionally raising the visibility of these things using my excellent karma. Do you honestly think anybody is that stupid?
You will have to take the same hit to lower that visibility What 'hit'? What the fuck are you talking about?
In fact, I got pissed enough about being unfairly downmodded from +5 to -1 that I posted the same things upthread or your crap flood. What crapflood? When were you at +5? Have you actually, finally, gone insane?
whoosh/wu, w, wu, w/ -noun 1. a loud, rushing noise, as of air or water: a great whoosh as the door opened. -verb (used without object) 2. to move swiftly with a gushing or hissing noise: gusts of wind whooshing through the trees. -verb (used with object) 3. to move (an object, a person, etc.) with a whooshing motion or sound: The storm whooshed the waves over the road.
Don't try to tell me their dividends keep up with it. Why not, because it would disprove your point?
Also, disappointed you used ibane to reply. What's this I hear about you having an account that you haven't used to reply to yourself with yet? Could this be a new attempt at honesty, or are you just priming it's mod points so you can use it later and hope nobody will notice?
It's not 'obvious' at all. I would personally blame the project's inability to deliver promised units, and the fact that those who get the chance to compare the Classmate to the XO often plump for the former unit. From the WSJ article you linked to:
"The Intel machine is a lot better than the OLPC," says Mohamed Bani, who chairs Libya's technical advisory committee but doesn't have the final say on buying laptops. "I don't want my country to be a junkyard for these machines."
Executives from both companies derided the device as a "toy" and failure before it was designed and then did everything possible to kill it. I would imagine that Intel putting in a sales policy preventing their staff from directly comparing their product to the XO would strongly refute that allegation.
Their employees even ran a hostile news site to make bad press. I assume you're talking about OLPC News, a site which has remained suprisingly neutral - unless you want to pick an article out of there which is provably false and designed to create your precious 'FUD'. There's plenty of content there for people on both sides of the fence.
I'm amused that you wrote a reply to this here as an AC, and another one while logged in to one of your copy accounts on this comment for what seems to be zero logical reason. That comment just so happens to contain the correct link to the Troll Zoo even though DeadZero is meant to be a different person who probably wouldn't bother finding that or caring about it.
Sometimes I wonder what goes in your head - it seriously makes my brain hurt trying to deduce your motivations for doing these things.
Why would you reply to this comment with a link to the other comment? Why not just reply to that comment? Also, what are the chances of you reading that comment, knowing exactly what I was talking about, and being able to post a link to it in what you wrote there?
Oh, that's right, you're trying to avoid negative moderation for this account, because you've only just opened it and it's already down to zero... though the fact that nobody will read this didn't stop you lying about being a different person.
I would ask you if anyone's told you you need psychiatric help, but I know for a fact that I've told you that more than once. It's still true, if you were wondering.
The owner of Computer Heaven in Baton Rouge is one of the few people who bothered to fight them in court. He was innocent and everyone knew it. If there was any "piracy" involved it happened to his upstream suppliers. The man made a ton of money for M$ then they treated him like shit. The defense cost him just about everything he had, but he persisted out of principle and won. The poor man kept the store and kept selling Windows hoping the next upgrade wave would fill up his savings again. His reward for that was Vista disappointment. Now he has GNU/Linux experts on staff. I'm going to assume that this is a lie, unless you can provide some proof - if only because all you've ever done is lie.
Also, I loved your 'Troll Zoo' article, especially the part where I apparently threatened to have you killed. A wonderfully psychotic read.
Well, of course it won't. They said it's illegal, not that it's so incredibly legal that Microsoft have to bend over and take it up the arse from everyone who breaks their warranty by installing one.
Virgin aren't handing over any details, probably for the DPA reasons you pointed out. They've called the campaign a 'program of education', and that they're not comfortable shutting down or reporting suspected activities without concrete proof.
Moving off-topic again, yes, the mods are on crack. Check out the crapfest first post modded +5 insightful - apparently asking people not to illegally share files is now a violation of rights that don't even exist in the United Kingdom.
I'm actually despairing of this site now. Think it might be time for me to find somewhere that can actually take an unbiased position on things.
How about you don't confuse copyright violations with freedom of the press.
I'll ask you to do something useful now - use one account instead of playing the 'dreadfully easy multiple accounts game'. You've replied to me with two different accounts now (including the one you copied from mine) and there's a third one down the page. Is it actually fucking necessary to have more than one account, or do you just not like being held accountable for the horseshit you write?
Your argument stands if the article was actually about them attacking P2P, but it's not. It's about asking people not to illegally share music. So, my point is accurate because the entire discussion is about "distributed networking for an illegal purpose".
Did you even read the article you're posting to? Or didn't you notice that both you and Twitter up there are making a completely tangential argument?
but you must understand that the attack on P2P is really an attack on free press I can only assume that you've found some form of political speech that is distributed in illegally shared music, because otherwise your point would be completely meaningless.
Don't even pretend to mull that over - your point is seriously completely meaningless.
Anti-Slash? That's fucking priceless. Neither you nor Slashdot are important enough for me to spend money on.
OHNOES THE TROLL ZOO!!!111!!!1!! Worried I'll threaten to kill you again, Twit?
You really are a complete prick.

You're a fine one to talk about enlightenment - you would keep it from everything from everyone, and you try to regularly.
Don't ever think you can use philosophy on me, twitter. You can't argue factually with me, let alone at an abstract level.
I can't decide whether your mother smoked when she was pregnant, dropped you on your head, or whether this is all your own work. I'm sure you can enlighten me.

So many questions...
You forgot to change account again.
whoosh /wu, w, wu, w/

The above comment is clearly twitter having a hissy fit.
Please mod both me and the parent down so nobody has to read it.

Save it, that was a rhetorical question.
You know a flat stock price isn't an indicator of a failing company? Of course you do, but that would be the truth.
Don't forget to reply to me with your 'Mactrope' account just like you just replied to willy with your 'willeyhill' account.
Any link? An admittedly brief search on Google didn't turn up anything.

Similarly (and I might be wrong here, I haven't the time to go check) don't Sun claim ownership of all code that goes into OO.o?
Well, of course it won't. They said it's illegal, not that it's so incredibly legal that Microsoft have to bend over and take it up the arse from everyone who breaks their warranty by installing one.

As I've noted up the page, this article isn't about 'attacking P2P', it's solely regarding the illegal distribution of music.
Virgin have always had a fairly open policy around traffic shaping, and they've never spoken out against P2P other than the illegal use of it.
Your argument stands if the article was actually about them attacking P2P, but it's not. It's about asking people not to illegally share music. So, my point is accurate because the entire discussion is about "distributed networking for an illegal purpose".

I can't believe you're still replying to me with the account named after me. How stupid are you?
