I can also see this getting hijacked by "corporate bribery" in the guise of charity... Some company, most likely microsoft, will "donate" software that has a retail price of millions but a production cost of nothing, as both a tax writeoff and to ensure the schools teach a microsoft approved curriculum... So you won't be taught the basics of programming, nor will there be any mention of low level programming (heaven forbid anyone try to write replacements for ms software)... The class will end up as "how to use visual basic", teaching ms languages tied to ms platforms.
It was all so interesting until you had to start crying because Microsoft is using "corporate bribery" to allow schools to teach them to code in C#, or to use Visual Studio, or to write macros in Office, or whatever. You know, the kind of senseless whinning just because Microsoft can do something, and the same senseless whinning that makes me hate the linux community.
Let's be honest here: 3 lines of code versus 15 pages of code sounds like a)the teacher was certainly really, really bad, or b)exaggerrated bullshit. Not only because "three lines of code" is ridiculous, but because of the irony that he's so advanced in programming that he didn't learn anything about how someone teaches kids how to program.
I take it you don't understand either the value of Steam as a selling platform, or the fact that developing for the PC is arguably easier than for the PSX3 and just as difficult as for the XBox 260.
Ubisoft is a terrible company, most of their games are bugged mess with monstruous DRM that no one on their right minds would ever pay for them: do you really think you're losing money because people pirate your games? Do you even think these people would even buy them if they couldn't pirate them? Take the last HOMM game, for example: a terrible, dumbed down version of a once great series: frankly, the only way peple are going to play that is pirating them. How come Skyrim, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Crysis and other AAA titles on the PC still manage to sell? Because they are *good* games. Stop trying to make yourself look good: The Wii must be the most pirated platform of all time, yet it's by far the most succesfull one in terms of money. You're just being thick now.
I have Windows 7, it is stable but what I don't like is every time I take an update it royally screws up my machine especially now because I don't use IE. There was even a time where I couldn't even get it to boot, it took my days to finally fix the configuration. This happens almost every time I take an update, yes, I know I can just refuse them, but I shouldn't have too. Plus I hate the tools it comes with, it's child like, but that could be because I've been using Linux and Mac more and more at work.

Hey it's okay. I got royally screwed when I installed ubuntu last year on my laptop, changed the password, and then it just doesn't boot up correctly. I haven't even bothered to fix it or anything, but I'm pretty sure there is a fix: but it took me 2 months and dealing with the ocassionally not really helpful ubuntu community, and I got annoyed. I just kinda type up two commands to make it work. I've never had any problems with W7 (or XP, actually) that wasn't because of some faulty hardware. Sometimes I wonder what's the "real" hardcore OS.

Actually, that's brazilian players, who are the scourge of every online game. I don't have anything against brazilians, but they are really difficult to play with in any online game. Most spanish speaking players speak a bit of english at least. That said, any team games are better with friends, so you know what you gota do.
You're an idiot. Of course MS isn't growing, it's a monopoly covering one area and has a serious difficulty in cracking other markets without a DoJ investigation.
The way that you make it sound there's limitless growth potential. Apple got really lucky in that the DoJ has been turning a blind eye to its antitrust violations, same goes for Google.
Microsoft have the one problem - their success. Most of it was due to luck - Corporate America chose Microsoft as the OS of choice, beginning with MS-DOS. Windows 95 to the present have only grown because the market for PCs expanded until pretty much everyone had one. The problem is - how do you force people to buy a new version of the OS when they don't want to?
.
So grow in other areas? Microsoft have effectively bought their way into other areas on the strength of Windows, Office and server income. Try as they might to barge into other areas, they have all the sexy appeal of Kmart or Walmart. The playing field changed while they were fumbling around and now Apple and Google are flooding new markets, leaving little room for Microsoft to move into. Microsoft haven't a proven product in the Phone or Tablet field (the XP tablets, eh) They're now a marginal player, trying to find a way to wedge themselves in, while holding back Android with flimsy patent suits.
You might be right about Microsoft needed something new to dominate the market again, you're ignoring data you are presenting, which is that Windows isn't MS's only source of income. They aren't a marginal player: they just aren't violently targetting you as they have done before, be it due to incompetence or lack of serious interest. I don't think Microsoft isn't on any dangerous ground yet. They can ignore tablets, and their new phone OS is actually quite good, if still inferior to Android or iOS.
You can't be serious. Taking complete control is apparently being a coward and instead of trying to make his life work he simply finished it. A moment of bravery to save yourself a life of sacrifices? No.
I do realize I really made myself look bitter and angry. I could have left out the "ADD" bit out. I stand corrected, but I stand by my point. Of course you can enjoy all kinds of games. I just think there is a target audience for these, one I'm not part of.
You are obviously missing the point. I just mentioned that these guys are nothing more than mindless fun, they are bassically the same thing year after year, and I don't get why people STILL get excited about them. Not too much strategy or ability involved. If you love them, good for you, I don't. There are more innovative games out there which don't force you to suffer an aneurysm "after a long day of work".
Of course you can. But as an RTS fan would not be likely to leave out whatever RTS is on fire nowadays to go and play, say a fantasy RPG, a MW fan is less likely to jump out of CoD to play, say, Heroes of Might and Magic. But I'm sure you're just throwing baits and you completely know that.
So "great gamer" or "great mind" is one of those things you need to have now to enjoy games?
I've read my previous post at least 15 times, and still can't find anything that would remotely indicate that I'm even suggesting this. The rest of your post is the same circle-jerkoff I'm forced to read whenever CoD and BF fans read that I don't like those games, so I am valiantly going to ignore it.
This isn't a dark, grity, brown corridor shooter. It has no space on the consoles.
... do you really read Kotaku?

Wow I wouldn't do business with someone who wants to conduct them via MSN. Now that's inefficient.
erm *didn't
Did Blockbuster go out of business, anyway?

Heh, didn't think of it that way. Another nail!

Is that seriously the OS' fault?

I don't get it.
You had to namedrop Apple, right? That invalidates all the points you had.
You gotta admit it was a pretty good flame.

I'm not sure you're insulting who you think you are insulting.
I don't think you have a clear idea of who are you attacking here. It isn't MS fault your computer doesn't work correctly.

Are you really trying to compare the level of complexity between Pong and Call of Duty?
