Well, it doesn't takes a great gamer or a great mind to be a "pro" in CoD or BF. It's a pure mindless action game, lazily designed and not really all that interesting or different.
The point is: why would they even try to invite them? It isn't like three months ago the public opinion of something named "PIRATE PARTY" would be any diferent.
Replying also to GP: The problem is that, unless FB turns into some totally useless thing or G+ gets a media thunderstorm coming, people won't move from FB, no matter how many celebrities or tech geeks do move.
Yeah, I don't get where this misconception that word processors and all that boring, practival stuff was the reason the PC was more successful. It was obviously Doom.
I know plenty of people who like Microsoft, but, most important, they love the Xbox. THey don't really need to be liked by geeks and gamers, anyway: they have plenty of products that are widely used in business and that's what they need: I haven't RTFA but I really doubt the Xbox failing would be the end of them.
Of course, he's an engineer, so he probably lacks in the social skills department, and that might be much worse for trying to maintain that minimal majority.
Engineers =/= Nerds. Sure they might share some traits, but if you're an engineer and lack social skills, you won't get very far.
That'd be a great question, but unfortunately it's off-topic. I was the resident geek-nerd (more geek than nerd, because I had *some* social skills) in my classrooom (in Venezuela), but I was never ostraziced or an outcast. We just kinda got along, and if someone needed help with their PCs, they could ask me, while if I needed help on something like a car, which I had no idea how to deal with, I could just ask. No one really needed to shove their interests down anyone's throat, so no one would feel offended about anything.
In USA they seem to feel as if that would be an utopia.
XD you must have broken something. Three minutes and a half? Either you have that installation really bogged down with random crap, or the MacBook Air is a really bad machine.
Wow it had taken awhile before someone felt the need of bashing Microsoft. Google has dropped many projects and hyped them like they were curing cancer and then letting them die off, much more than Microsoft. Currently happening with: Google Buzz.
I hardly believe the ADD generation of gamers really wants to play a game like ME. It is a great game, but it requires time and skill.

Am I missing a really wonderful joke here?
... well I thought it looked alright. I hadn't really taken the time to do much more than tinkering with it. The concept was, though, very intriguing.

Not to mention the early adopters who will run away at the change of the service.
Yeah, this is frustrating. I'm just this close to leave it to rot and jump to Diaspora.
That's the "Interaction" they speak about. Though every once in a blue moon, they advertise some contest or something that might be worth reading.

Did you really throw Java and C together and said "real languages"? Real men who can grow a full beard program in C++.
It's a shame you posted as AC, because this is easily the best comment I've read so far on this topic. I totally agree with you.
Are you really arguing with Apple about a problem they found on one of their own products? How come?
I think it's safe to say that this particular AC has no idea about what he's babbling about.

I stand notified.
I like how the AC security expers come out, spit something that sounds almighty, and don't offer any explanation.

Can't you do that? I'm pretty sure I've used flash alongside ASP.NET, but I might have done it outside VS.

I'm pretty sure you don't really know what a nerd is.
Well I have no idea what the "Maker Movement" but the conversations on this topic are pretty awesome anyway. And I consider myself a geek, so...
Well yup, but no one forced you to use Silverlight. I think.
