Why are people so dedicated to these faceless cororations? Or am I mistaking dedication for stupidity?
Either way, I find the fact that no one cares about this to be very disturbing. But I bet if it had happened to them, they'd be singing a different tune. At least I hope they would.

Halo 3 Review

SSBB will smoke Halo 3. Despite the rampant, smashed in your face M$-engineered hype of H3, no one really seems to care - at least not around here. I mean, a few folks I know who have xbox 360's mentioned in passing that they were thinking about getting it, but then you look at the fact that - just the other night 15 of us went bowling and the dominant topic of the nigh'ts discussion was our speculation of how awesome SSBB is going to be. A complete stranger even got into the conversation. It's not engineered hype, but rather, honest excitement and it's pretty widespread. SSBB will definately outsell H3, and will do so with hardly any money burnt on commercializing the game - it'll be sold on excitement and word of mouth.
Yeah, I would never have thought my grandma would be playing a Nintendo system, but she tried mine during last thanksgiving and said she couldn't get it out of her head, she really wanted to play it at home.
Now she plays Wiiplay (which I bought her) and Wii Sports. The rest of the games out there right now are too hardcore for her, but she likes to do the everybody votes channel, create Miis of friends and family, browse the web, check the news, play with the Nasa Weather Globe Channel and message me (I send her pictures using the Wii messaging system).
I couldn't believe how well the system has integrated into her life - seeing as it integrates into my life so well also.
If your looking for a great gift for your grandparents (and like I said, never thought I'd be typing these words) try the Wii.
(1) Zombies Ate My Neighbors for super nintendo
(2) Contra for nes
(3) Super Smash Brothers Melee for Game Cube
(4) Mariokart Double Dash for Game Cube
I can buy a Wii (for the Kids games) and a 360 (for the graphics and cool points) and spend about the same ammount of money. Also I will have a MUCH MUCH larger game library to choose from (don't forget Wii's virtual console and Xbox live) and a wider gaming excperience (the Wii's awsome controller and the 360's standard gaming experience) and spend about the same ammount of money as I would on one PS3.
So why would I narrow my options?
Well, in my case, I have an awsome computer which I spent alot of money on, so I don't even need the 360. I'm just getting the Wii - but for those who don't have a high-end gaming rig, you can just buy the 360 to get your graphics and cool points.
Yeah man, listen - I don't know about all this sexy talk - but (aside from the bluray thing) my PC, which I built myself, blows the PS3 out of the water. I can do everything else you just said, and if I want to play bluray DVDs (I'm not really that interested in it) I could just buy a player.
To me, the system looks like a huge waste of money. Sony uses theis "IT'S LEET MAN!" attitude to attract consumers who define their own coolness by the products they own. I just don't buy into that school of thought. It just seems kinda dumb to me.
So I'm not getting hooked by this "IT'S A SYSTEM FOR THE ELITE, IT'S NOT FOR EVERYONE" routine. That's just marketing man, get over yourself. They think the same tactics they used to push all those PS2's out the door so man years ago will work today, but they won't. Not on everyone. Some people will get hooked by it (your a great example), but most people are just going to ignore it and buy something else, whose going to wait around for the PS3 to stop being "FOR THE ELITE BUYER ONLY!" - not me. By the time it's for everyone, I will gbe comfortably playing Wii (and perhaps XBox 360, I haven't decided yet, but definately Wii).
Dude, get yourself a Nintendo Gamecube and pick up a copy of one of these games.
Mario Party 7 (Co-op or VS)
Kirby's Air Ride
Super Monkey Ball 2
Mariokart Double Dash (Co-op or VS)
Super Smash Brothers Melee (Co-op or VS)(Also has a wonderful handicapping system.)
Super Mario Strikers (Co-op or VS)
All these games have great reply value, are easy enough for a noob to master yet deep enough for a major gamer to cherish, and offer various handicapping and co-op modes that work well to even the playing feild.
Good luck!
I had the same response on a different forum.

You make a great point - but here's the thing:
