    You can't escape hardware based exploits/backdoors. There's a lot of silicon in these things to hide in.

    I'm excited already. 2015 is the year of NRAM, OLED monitors, Linux desktops, and BTTF hoverboards.

  3. I would assume it would be a simple device connected to a fully solar electric living space. If the solar panels and tech behind them keep functioning, the simplest of devices (maybe even a phone connected to an outlet) would have the most longevity.

    1. I brought in an old computer I had lying around

    2. I asked them to draw what they thought was inside it.

    3. Went over the drawings with the class.

    4. Blew some minds after opening it.

    5. Discussed the parts and related them to the human body as best I could.

    The retention was very high when they understood how the processor was like the brain, the hard drive like long-term memory, ram like short-term. The motherboard was like the circulatory system (blood stream). Video card was like the eyes.

    This description could have been phrased much more coherently. Quick info: Open source Linux driver still much slower than proprietary. Closed source Linux driver "catching up" to Windows driver. Basically, we're still the same time-frame away from gaming/graphical work disappearing from the checklist of functional applications on Linux.

    Well if the job market is so terrible (for employees) and never getting better, then the obvious thing to do is to exploit that and become an employer. You can hire people for essentially nothing, and rake in huge profits for doing very little work.

    This is essentially the problem. Your only primary path to success is a downward spiral where you become the scumbag taking advantage of the misfortunes of your fellow man.

    The Logmein Central service makes it extremely easy to manage multiple clients and users on the same interface. That's biggest difference that I've seen.
