  1. Re:what does it matter? on Diebold Threatens Wary Voting Clerk · · Score: 1

I think the idea is to overall simplify the system. Just because all of us have played with rubix cubes before, doesn't mean that everyone wants to put themselves through the gauntlet of voting. And yeah... we want the people who can't figure out simple systems to vote too. Even the dumb ones get a vote. Also... if anywhere - I am surprised that on a site like this that there are people arguing for a paper solution. Why not make the voting machine FOSS too huh? Also... the reason that this is, what it is in the US is because since the 2000 election the counting of ballots has become an extremely hot topic. Everyone just wants to make sure that we get it right. Personally I think we should use a touch-screen system that prints a receipt for the voter, so that everything stays un-fishy.

Just like all the pastor's kids who became coke dealers, right? Hahaha, I do think this is pretty funny honestly though. But really... with a dad like that, who cares if you have an iPod or not. They could probably twist him arm into getting their own Vista backdoor! :P (hold shift and eat a pretzel during boot, and Vista all Vista code will tranform into a robot ready for your command)

Exploits, viruses, hacks, etc. are made with the intent of abuse. Why would someone waste their time finding a hole in something that 10% of the population uses when you find an easier target with 90%. It isn't that Firefox/Opera/Safari isn't 100% safe... just that people don't go after them quite as much.

You can always tell what a site is from the URL ya' know! Also... the article mentioned that this was a home computer that was infected. This of course means that along with just business, the computer is used for other things - if not even by other users (wife, kids, etc.). Google... yeah thats a big one. When people use search engines, they many times blindly except whatever link it is to be safe (hehe... I'm guilty). E-mail! A-hah! Someone or something that you trust gets infected, and sends you something automatically... and well, the rest is history. IE? Bah!

Well... you can always upgrade the box. Also, for people who are buying barebones or weak computers to install windows on. I figure that all they want to do is surf the net and check e-mail. Everyone has to start somewhere right? While 256 may not be much... it is all they would need. but hey... more power to 'em. Its nice to see some PCs without the "Windows Convenience". Bingo...! Finally someone out there who recognizes functionality as prime. Hehe, I use Windows... and for you Windows bashers out there, I haven't had a problem with it. So I have something you don't, compatibility. Windows gets plenty of bad PR, especially on a site like this, and I think that sometimes you guys lose sight of the fact that you are supposed to be able to use a computer, lol. Windows is easier... period. And about blue-screens/crashes/attacks - none here. I restart frequently and take care of my stuff, if you don't... and you have Windows - maybe it should crash, just to teach you a lesson (stop downloading so much porn).

Personally... anytime that someone's person or property is directly in danger, I would call the cops. - And about the guy with the idiot trucker... The reason they probably didn't care is because by they figured that by the time they get there, they are stuck with an empty neighborhood and a trucker who moved on to something much more interesting.
