Well to begin with this is a public event and Gizmodo was not denied the ability to buy a pass. Do you really think Apple should support an organization that knowingly stole from them and then laughed about it?
I told the firehose this link-bait was stupid, not sure why it did not listen. TFA article does not make any sense. There is no meat to it. It does not offer any information. The entire thing is pointless.
BTW there is nothing in the article that is not in the summary, so feel free to comment away without clicking. Not clicking is actually preferable in this case. I would dispute the point of the article, but since it makes no point, it is difficult to dispute. It is also, umm, pointless....
So it is Apple fault that others stores used a proprietary DRM format? DRM was all the record labels decision anyway. Apple removed it and offers a relatively inexpensive upgrade for anything you already own.
Google has the option to not allow searches from Europe rather than comply. This all gives me one more reason to chuckle every time some uppity European tries to call the US a police state.
Those quotes are interesting to someone who is a true fan of the show, but even combined they fail to have even a fraction of the impact on pop-culture of doh!. Homer Simpson gave life to a new television network and has remained popular enough for the past 20 years to continue to create new programs that people want to watch. People bring up a lot of great examples and all good have there place from 2 to 100. We could easily argue the order of 2 to 100 as well. Homer is in a class by himself.
Neither has had any impact on pop culture. You are mistaking being popular with impact on pop culture. Homer's impact goes even further than that. 50 years from now, people will still be saying doh!
How many ip addresses did you use? I connect to my GMail account from a minimum of 10 different IP addresses per day and from at least 3 different countries every month. I have never encountered a restriction like this. Perhaps it is because I am using my own domain. Seems like an odd restriction though. Even a normal user accessing from a phone could easily use 10 different IPs in a day.
You seriously expect us to believe you had a hard time figuring out how to adjust the volume on an iPod touch? Are you sure you want us to know that? Sounds like a problem you might want to share with a doctor and/or therapist.
I know you are an appropriately labeled AC troll, but really. It is stealing. People actually worked to create that music. Many, and in fact most of us here on/. take issue with the way RIAA extorts money out of alleged filesharers. I think you will find support for people stealing music is in fact rather limited.
Failure as in over 91% of the $1000+ laptop market or Failure as in their profits from just computers were 2xDells as a company? (More than PCs)?
It is really funny when someone posts so sure they know something they turn out to be completely wrong. It would help you to look into what you are talking about in the future.
And no one will be able to tell :)

Thanks Adobe, you help keep the Internet a fun and exciting place for everyone!
Real flash content can not be accessed by gnash. I suspect you already knew this, but decided trying to make a point was > than your integrity.

Your non-techy friends are wrong :)
P.S. The oil seems to be getting a thick down south.
In Soviet Union, obsolete industry mounts you!
New automobile tax proposed to revive buggy whip industry..
Innovate or die.

The point of the survey was impact on Popular culture. Twin Peaks had a fairly limited run with limited appeal and limited impact..

Picard is really the only one of those that had any impact on Pop culture and none had Homer's impact...

Good point. Microsoft spends significantly more than Apple on R&D and look what that has bought them.
They did appear to have enough influence on some wannabe hacker conference to redefine what "owning a machine" is to make Apple look as bad as them.

Well um yeah, I am sure you are suprised how accurate your attempt at sarcasm turned out.
He should believe it, it is true. Very few corporate IT decisions are based on actual requirements.
