I don't see how a kid sitting in front of a TV, Wii, iPad or whatever other gadget is any better than the old way of kicking your kids out of the house and not letting them come back until dark like previous generations did it. Assuming your kid isn't a fat-body and is getting a reasonable amount of exercise it's not "better parenting" for your kid to be swinging on a swing in the back yard instead of playing a video game.
It's not so much that we gave up on educating our people, it's that globalization is starting to hit jobs with education as well, so the benefit to the individual of working hard for that education is getting diminishing returns with competition from educated third world workers.
I've never not been able to do something because an SSL certificate had expired. I get a warning from my browser, that's all. It's odd that you weren't able to function.
Orlando FCU offers 0.25% on their share savings account. My bank offers a savings account rate of 0.05%. Yes it's true that OFCU offers 5x the earnings, but 0.2% growth is not even worth making a phone call. I would make more money picking up change I normally pass on the ground.
I don't know that I'm embarrassed, but certainly disappointed. I'm not old enough to really have any hate for the Russians, but it really makes me sad that we're dismantling our country's ability to participate in one of the coolest things human beings do.
Here's an example of the rates you see at one of my local credit unions. https://www.orlandofcu.org/products/savings_rates.asp#moneymarketrates If I had over $1 Million I still could not exceed 1% growth on a money market account. At the time I researched it a while back they were all essentially in the same boat.
I find the required "twitchiness" of the PC versions of FPSs to be annoying at best. I think you hit the nail on the head regarding your comment about it being about "positioning." The different input capabilities add different elements to the gameplay. The primary difference between me and most PC players is that I don't see PC as being inherently "better" I view it as a different gaming experience which weighs on different elements of the game. Subjectively I enjoyed the XBox versions more because that was my primary place to play the game(s). Changing over to the PC was very difficult because I hadn't built the (different) skills required to be successful there and the same strategies were not necessarily effective.
I suggest you look at the 1-year charts for gold vs. the 1-year chart for purchasing power of the dollar. The people with money in the bank (including myself) have lost plenty of money.
I hear this a lot, but I have never found it to be beneficial to switch away from my megabank because even though the credit union might offer a fraction of a percent higher savings rates it never seems to make up for the additional fees and restrictions required. At my megabank since I use direct deposit I never have to pay any fees except for foreign ATMs, but they're so prolific that that's hardly even an inconvenience the 2-3 times per year I need cash for something.
I've always been of the opinion that it doesn't matter much, PC or Console for FPS type games. If everyone is playing from the same (or similar) input devices, then everyone is on equal footing. There is no "mouse point and click" on the console, so if PC provides more accurate input, so what? That doesn't mean that the console requires more or less skill than the PC version of a game, it just means that the two different versions are slightly different in that regard. The last time I was really into a FPS was when Counter Strike was still fairly new on XBox. I had some friends who were big PC players and they would always tout that if we could play against each other (them on PC, me on XBOX) then they'd roast me. That's probably true, but if we were both on XBOXes I probably would have roasted them. It didn't make much difference to me one way or the other.
Google already ported Quake 2 to WebGL, here's an example http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MSDiBA27Wo0. IMHO that's powerful enough for most casual gamers and that is something that exists and is working *today*. Hawkins was talking about "in the future."
If you're saying.NET is not a native framework then I'd also argue that Android's java/dalvik framework is not native either. Just adding another point in your favor I guess...
The default Android UI is pretty easy on the eyes. I also happen to really like the HTC widgets which (imo) make the UI quite superior to the Apple UI which is purely functional and not very snazzy. Having the additional hardware buttons frees up a lot of UI space that used to have to hold menu buttons. All that being said, I consider myself a power user. If anyone asks me whether I think they should get an iPhone or an Android I typically answer iPhone. In my opinion if you don't know enough to decide on your own you should err on the side of the more idiot proof device. There's a lot to be said for that.
Also I have a lot of iPhone user friends who are talking about switching. I always recommend against that. They already have so much invested in the Apple franchise that it will be PAINFUL to lose all their paid for apps, potentially lose their music if they can't figure out how to re-encode them, etc.
In the United States, at least, we have generations of dark skinned people who were bred like cattle so that they would be faster and stronger. This made them better slave workers. The end result is not surprising, we see a lot of residual affects of this real physiological man-made change. That doesn't mean that people with dark skin are inherently faster. It means something entirely different. There's not a lot of evidence to suggest that people with dark skin or light skin have statistically significant differences in cognitive ability. Most of the data more strongly points to nutrition and things of that nature. In the United States we also have culture biases built into our social classes.
What I do know is that I have traveled to several countries with little or no social welfare and they were all quite terrible places to live in that I honestly don't hope to visit again. Generally speaking those places have most people living in squalor and a very few living in mansions with no middle class to speak of. I'd definitely be interested in hearing of countries with little or no social welfare systems that were *not* in this condition.

I know there's laws for facilitating criminal law crimes, I wasn't aware there was a similar law for civil matters.
It doesn't seem to matter what % of the time I speed vs. what % of the time other people speed when I argue against my speeding tickets.

Trick question, with the privatization of our prison system 1b is always true.
And that would differentiate them from the Republican and Democratic candidates how?
I'll promise to avoid it if you promise to stop the government from monitoring me.

Cool story bro time. I once dated a girl who read Brave New World and couldn't understand that it was a dystopia. She thought it sounded pretty good.
Clearly the military does not believe in capitalism and letting the free market decide where to allocate resources. Socialism is WRONG!!!

I would assume our "seats" include at least some cargo space going back and forth from the ISS.

Our government IS a republic. If anything this is an example of Utah choosing fact over tradition.

It's probably a Nokia employee. That $1 Billion has to be spent somewhere.
