+1 informative. Thank you for the correction.

  2. tbh there's no reason to publicize anyone in this story, the situation's been handled. Let people move on with their lives.

If one of these women had been your sister or your daughter, would you have considered the situation "handled" after Caldbeck stepped down?

So what's wrong with these women sticking up for themselves? There's nothing wrong with hanging a jacket on him so that women at his next venture are duly warned. Not every matter is best handled by courts or law enforcement. If what these women are saying isn't true, there are libel laws to handle it.

  3. The "Russia hacked the election" narrative is DNC/MSM political fiction.

You might want to mention that to President Trump and current Homeland Security officials. He seems to think it was real. Also, to those left-wing Democratic operatives over at Voice of America.

"At a separate hearing, a current Homeland Security official, Jeanette Manfra, told the Senate Intelligence Committee that the agency has evidence that Russia targeted election-related systems in 21 of the 50 U.S. states. Johnson said 36 states accepted help from the federal government in trying to blunt the Russian efforts, even as many states rejected federal oversight of their state-run election operations."

  4. Social Media will be the downfall of most societies I expect.

Whether due to government manipulation, private interest manipulation, or merely coarsening the social discourse, Social Media really hasn't been a net benefit to society at all.

It's still early days. We've seen only a handful of successful social media platforms. Things change.

If you really drill down into the story and the linked documents, you will find that the official statement from the USPTO that wants to permanently legalize the right to repair was prepared by the previous head of the patent office Michelle K. Lee (Obama appointee) and signed by Karyn Temple Claggett (Obama appointee) who became acting head of USPTO after Lee resigned on June 6.

Trump hasn't appointed anyone to head the copyright office yet, since he's too busy being awesome to do any actual presidenting, and he hasn't gotten a list of possible candidates from the Russian ambassador yet. But if his executive actions so far are any indication, you can bet there won't be any Obama-era "right to repair" left in the USPTO when he's done, since his entire raison d'être seems to be making sure to reverse anything done by the black guy before him. Even if only superficially.

    OK...

At some threshold someone will come along that CAN undercut Verizon on costs and will ream them hard when they do. Hell, all it'd take is having largely the same level of coverage and be 25% cheaper and they'd put Verizon OUT OF BUSINESS.

    Now who's engaging in fantasy?

That $0.58 per share you're going to get on July 6 is eaten up by higher prices and the increased costs of no net neutrality, but fantasies can keep you warm at night.

    From the NATO website:

Swedish cooperation with NATO is based on a longstanding policy of military non-alignment and a firm national consensus, and focuses on areas that match joint objectives.
Cooperation has been reinforced over the years since Sweden joined NATO’s Partnership for Peace in 1994 and became a member of the Euro-Atlantic Partnership Council in 1997.
Sweden is one of NATO's most active partners and a valued contributor to NATO-led operations and missions in the Balkans and Afghanistan – it is one of five countries that has enhanced opportunities for dialogue and cooperation with NATO.
An important priority for cooperation is to develop capabilities and maintain the ability of the Swedish armed forces to work with those of NATO and other partner countries in multinational peace-support operations.
In the current security context with heightened concerns about Russian military activities, NATO is stepping up cooperation with Sweden and Finland in the Baltic region.
Sweden actively supports the implementation of United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325 on Women, Peace and Security, hosting the Nordic Centre for Gender in Military Operations at the Swedish Armed Forces International Centre.
Sweden’s role in training the forces of NATO partner countries is greatly valued, as is its support for a number of Trust Fund projects in other partner countries focused on issues related to demilitarization and defence transformation.

Are you saying that Swedish forces were NOT part of Operation Iraqi Freedom and the War in Afghanistan? That they did NOT fight in Kosovo and the wider Balkans alongside NATO?
