you can replace the mini with this give on board video and a pci-e slots to keep costs down or just put a low end video in the low end system.
With good video cards maybe even SLI / CrossFire with 2 - 4+ gb of ram with a good choice of cpus you can have a nice mid-range pro system and good gameing system.

Build a system get a nforce 570 sli board with dual gig-e port with teaming and tcp/ip offload and amd x2 cpu. DDR2 is cheap now days You also need a low end video card.
You will need a good PSU if you want to run a lot of disks.
for about $40 more you can get a much better cpu, better on board video with pci-e x16 and x4 slots + pci slots, 2gb of 2x1gb 4-4-4-12 ddr2 800, 80gb 7200, 8MB, SATA-300 HD. Just add any matx / atx case and psu.
