Firewire or e-sata externals are much better. I have a cheap usb external that carps out if you try to push to much data to it also firewire 400 is faster then usb 2.0 with less cpu over head.
The games that Brian Schmidt did the music on are good. Chris Granner also did some good work on many games as well.
alot of the system 11 and later wms games have real good music like Black Knight 2000 Banzai Run Big Guns Earthshaker Swords of Fury Space Station Whirlwind
At the same time Data East Pinball games used a stereo sound midi like sound system for the music.
The pre DSC Williams WPC games also have good midi like music
The later DSC and stern S.A.M system games use recorded music and most of the games have good music.
The Capcom Pinball games used a cool mp3 based sound system with real good sound and music in them.
Alot of the pinball and video games that used the BSMT 2000 sound chip have good music also. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BSMT2000 Battletoads arcade is on of the games with good music that uses that chip
removing the CD / DVD checks will remove the need for some the admin access but online games also need to check for cheating / hacking tools and that needs admin as well.
OS/2 was able to run windows 3.1 apps and look where that got them and now os/2 is just about dead and you want to know way.
Developers just made windows apps and very few os/2 apps.
M$ pushed out updates and new API's that did not fully work in os/2 EX win32s updates like ver 1.30c.
If apple added win 32 M$ may push win 64 even harder push out small DX ,.NET and other API updates just to brake it on os-x.
Apple will lose many developers to windows and there lack of a mid-range desk, the much wider range of hardware support and drivers on windows systems, and the all of the people who custom build there systems will make spending time on OS X apps a bad idea.
Apple lack of good gameing hardware and is likely pushing developers to make mac games that are windows based run under a winex warper in osx.
that don't fund stuff or even try to push out stuff that they have no Clue about but they read about somewhere and they want IT to use it with out asking them if it will be a good fit.
Maglev and High speed rail is better city to city travel. Monorail, subways, el and lower speed rail is better for inter city and small city to city runs.
Alot of speeds limits are set to low for the road and it can be unsafe to try to go the limit. This is not the same thing as alot of Copyright rules are not posted like a speed limit is.
The BSA considers software pirated if a company can't produce a receipt for it, no matter how long ago it was purchased. Software boxes or certificates of authenticity are no help. And some times the certificates of authenticity or the key on your systems case is the only receipt. What about software / hardware makes you send in the receipt for rebate or warranty?
What even happened to innocent until proven guilty?

With a 1.5GHz, VIA -D Processor, 512MB DDR2 533MHz, SDRAM, 80GB Hard Disk Drive, DVD-ROM/CD-RW Optical Drive, and VIA UniChrome Pro IGP Graphics?
alot of non gameing uses may want a DVDRW and they cost about $10 more then a DVD-ROM/CD-RW.
And you can buy 1GB of low end DDR2 for about $30 after rebate higher end DDR2 800 2x1gb dual channel kits with times like 4-4-4-15-1T and heat spreaders are only about $50 after rebate.
A 80GB HD is ok but a lot of non games may need more space.
VIA UniChrome Pro IGP Graphics is low end video chip and intel gma video is better and it can run aero and most new systems with on board video have DVI ports now days as well.
