if you mean "focus follows mouse" by "focus follows mouseover" then I heartily agree with you. In our office ALL the linux users use this feature. Gnome and evil supports it, and everytime we need to work on an OS that doesn't support it we get very frustrated.
Also, google seem to have the better angle on a brewing war.
1. They already have a search engine available on iPhones - Apple won't block it for fear of antitrust litigation. 2. They already have the best search engine around. 3. Their smartphone OS is gaining ground on the iPhone OS very quickly. 4. Their business model of focussing on the OS and letting other phone makers worry about the hardware is smart. Phone makers were praying for an opportunity to have a phone with functionality to compete with the iPhone, and google gave them the OS to do just that. You can now get a samsung that is on at least an equal footing with the iPhone in many respects.
If Apple decides to throw down the gauntlet google will have the means to crush their search engine business in the long(ish) run, and possibly their phone business too...
Seems someone was smart enough to register isearch.com...

yikes, even based on this short list I drew up from memory the isearch domain name is hot!
On my 64bit Linux TweetDeck doesn't even run properly. Black background and mostly nothing else. And I also noticed the resource hogging, but thought that was because mine was broken.
I wonder if a sex addiction with medical side effects that can be attributed to doing your fembot too often will cause them to violate those laws? The humorous solution might be to build in a "headache mod" as a safety mechanism. This is of course taking the conjecture that one step too far...
Wow, it just hit me that everytime I hear or read "android" I automatically think it refers to the google operating system. For a few moments the headline caused a brainspasm as I tried to figure out how that was possible.
Now I wonder what the implications would be if google started claiming copyright on the word android...
It might be console games. Over here you rent playstation games and consoles at video stores for some years now, and before that those old golden china and sega cartriges.
I think this is a good idea, it is good to get kids into libraries again - I spent a lot of time in my local library as a kid. Good memories...
How can that be modded offtopic? He was in the Moroccan Desert, and people WHO LIVED THERE had Macbooks. I am no Mac fan but surely if it works for them it might work for the purpose of this story?
Case in point: Users clicking on dodge links or opening dangerous attachments in e-mails.
Or how about people STILL falling for those 419 emails? Heck Oprah had a show dedicated to it and yet people STILL fall for the most basic scams.
Why would someone who ignores a notice from their bank not to send out personal information or reply to a mail asking for their banking details take heed of a facebook mail telling them they can opt out from giving personal information?
You have to cater to the lowest common denominator and work yourself up from there.
It's not like they have access to any of my bank details, credit cards, NI number, passport number, or anything that would really cause me grief if it got into the wrong hands.
A large chunk of FB users might not know what this means and then not go through the effort of opting out, some might even use FB from their mobile phone most of the time (I know of a few of my friends who are on the road a lot and FB/Tweet from their phones) and might not know about this for a few weeks.
If the opt-out option is there it is certainly less of an issue than sensationalised in TFA, but there is still opportunity for peoples personal information that they would like to have restricted to FB to be shared on other sites and used by other companies who they did not give consent to.
Why not a default "opted out have to opt in" policy instead of an "opted in have to opt out" policy?
You hit the nail on the head with your 'dreams' comment.
If you take a poll of the average person anywhere in the world and you ask them "would you like to have more of $dream in your life" 80% of them would answer yes to more than one of $dream, which could be TIME (a favourite of MLM's), money, posessions, even happiness or a bunch of others.
MLM schemes promise the chance to let you realise that dream, "If you work hard now on your "Independent Business" you can be "financially free" or you can "have two holidays per year, 6months each."
It is a lie, but people are so desperate to make some change in their lives, even when it is not really necessary that they will go for a chance to make loads of cash.
Funny thing is that they have a better chance to make that money at a casino than with an MLM.
Actually, for a MLM to be legal in the US, it has to sell more than 50% (iirc) of its products to non members. Currently the most successful MLM in the us only sells about 17% of its products to non members.
Too lazy to google, I looked it up a few days ago because someone tried to sucker me into going to a scamway meeting.

Also, the rule of "Pictures or it didn't happen" should apply... right?
This is slashdot, it is perfectly acceptable to do just that. In fact, it's implied.
Certainly a very cool story.
But while crazy taxi might not have had anything to do with your actual driving skills, it certainly helped you adapt to a new driving environment.
Duly tagged.
NOW GET OFF HIS LAWN!

Wonder how long it will take Apple to sue because he dared use i as the first letter of his program name...

So nerds finally have a hope of getting laid?

I guess they're screwed then.
Well this depends largely of the content of said document and the events surrounding it (context). In this case it will work, in another it might not.

Can't. He laminated his camera and glued the lens cover shut...
Not if you want to do some REAL computing on it, unless it is more than just a tablet?

Yet.
My thought exactly lol.
