I approve of smoking bans. If eaters of transfats vomited all over me in every restaurant, I'd probably approve of transfat bans too.

I've heard tons of stories from cyclists in the US detailing how people in vehicles purposely drive as close as possible to them, cut them off, throw things at them etc.
Let me guess, they were cycling at 17mph two-abreast on a 45mph road at sundown without proper reflective gear or flashing lights? American cyclists are predominantly stupid and ignore traffic laws to their own detriment. They are far safer on sidewalks than on the roads.
Footnote:
Yes, I'm aware that security through obscurity is no security at all, but that's not the issue here. The issue is that instead of nobody caring or trying to break the reasonable security they've implemented, now they've got thousands of people working on it. THAT does matter.
Security through obscurity's little brother? Security through "meh"?
This quote is bound to decrease intelligent discourse. Painting your opposition as backwoodsy by misspelling a word to match a much-maligned accent's pronunciation seems trollish behavior. Are you a troll, good sir?
And even worse than that, there is an intersection near my house where the right turn green arrow is lit simultaneously with the left turn green arrow for oncoming traffic.
Call your DOT hotline and get that fixed. Incredible safety hazard.
And more businesses are getting hit: 7 to 9 percent of an organization's machines are bot-infected, up from 5-to-7 percent last year, according to Damballa.
I think the bolded "an" is a typo, otherwise, this sentence makes little sense.
"Family" farmers don't exist, and haven't existed for over 50 years. It's a myth.
You lie. I'd say you're just incorrect, but since you're in the farm biz, you should know better, so you have to be lying. A step-cousin of mine is farming on my family's farm that was established back in the 1800's. He's doing all of the organic voodoo greenie stuff, and bartering with other farmers in his area that do the same thing. What he doesn't barter away, he sells for $$$ to enviro-wackos with money to burn. He's not rich, but he's making a profit.
Now is the time to invest in corn syrup futures my friend.
Pepsi recently test marketed "Throwback" versions of Pepsi and Mountain Dew because they're afraid corn->ethanol will use up too much of the corn supply.
If some nut job is afraid of genetically engineered food, I'm sorry
It's not a question of fear. Are these new GM beets good for eating, or are they mostly sugar factories? What happens to my nice tasty beets when your GM plants start hybridizing and turning them into mushy sugar balls?
This is on par with banning sea salt because they came up with a more efficient evaporation process. With the exception of turbinado (i.e. raw sugarcane extract) and molasses, white cane/beet sugar is 99%+ pure. Who cares if the DNA of the plant is different from the previously "genetically modified" breed of sugar beet?
If the more efficient evaporation process were possibly detrimental to the seas, then I'm sure people would ban it; some people like seas for more than just the salt. i.e. some people want to grow non-GM beets because they like to eat beets. Allowing non-GM and GM to mix is currently a shrug-your-shoulders science, with reasonable doubt as to whether severe damage to beet diversity could result.
In general, the Nazi swastika can be quite commonly seen in Germany in situations where it is clear that they are not meant to glorify national socialism. For example, history books, movies, TV reports etc.
...Computer games where the protagonist kills Nazis like the dogs they are.
How about a data mining application to scour through political speeches and legislative records to identify politicians most- and least-likely to support such a scheme?
You'll have faster I/O if you focus on searching for the ones that aren't likely.
I use file and edit menus regularly, because I can never remember whether the system I'm on uses ctrl-c, open-apple-c, ctrl-ins, shift-ctrl-c, etc just for copying, so edit menu gets the props. File is for printing to pdf or whatever.
Thank you! So many people think rural Americans don't know world geography. Ask them any questions about places that the U.S. has a military interest, and they'll give you correct answers. Their family is serving there.
Then, after seven years, I was sent home to my family. And now, little man, I give the iPod to you.
Wow, seven year-old electronics... Perhaps if you had used "Kenner Boba Fett unopened" in your example I would feel the proper emotional response.

Imagine your wife or girlfriend. Now imagine your wife or girlfriend, with a can of soda constantly in her hand, weighing 300 pounds.
Imagine myself with a can of soda constantly in my hand, weighing 160 pounds; reasonably trim. Not everyone has a broken metabolism.

you can't exactly gag people whose identity you don't know (no way to deliver service to them, when they ignore email).
Or when you've gotten their email account disabled.
If a bank did this to me I'd be all up in their butts with lawyers sewing for damages.
I'd normally say lawyers don't sew too well, but my SIL knits all the time.

Get your ass to Mars, ... Get your ass to Mars, ... Get your ass to Mars, ...
I see we're thinking on the same track. There's water on the Moon, water on Mars... Where next? A bidet (Water in Uranus).
This subject-line joke is solely topical and will lose its meaning in a week or less.

I don't know anyone that actually eats sugar beets as a meal.
You've never heard of pickled beets? Really? You're pulling my leg.

South Korea (the one with Seoul) Americans really dont know the difference between North and South Korea without explaining it further?
Sure we do. GP just wanted to emphasize that North Korea is led by a Seoulless bastard.
