    Now tell me... just because Dodge sells many, many more Neons, does that mean it is better?

    Or how about McDonalds hamburgers vs. fillet mingon? Another clear case where the inferior product sells better.

    IE dominates the browser market because it is free in one way that Mozilla isn't... It's hassle free. It comes delivered on your Windows desktop when you buy a computer. Most people never even imagine that there could be something better, or that it's free to use. Most people just don't care. But do not mistake "market dominance" with "good product".

    Install all the WMs that come with a distro, and try 'em all out! Then the user can make an informed decision as to what he likes best. That's what this former Windows user did.

    1: Find your local LUG
    2: I don't care if it's tedious, RTF Man pages!
    3: Google.
    4: Forums like JustLinux (formerly LinuxNewbie)
    5: IRC isn't all that bad. Change servers and find a decent channel filled with helpful people.

    Depending on what you're looking for, I would be happy to part with my back issues that are collecting dust, and my wife would be very happy to be rid of the lot of them.

    As for where I buy them, I currently am subscribed. I don't buy back issues at all, ever. (well, okay, I shelled out for Wolverine #1 way-back-when since my subscription started on issue #2)

    Sounds logical. By that theory, I should never be taxed to pay for my local schools, either, since I have no children. Tax revenue from the sale of guns and ammunition should support our military. Revenue from state-run lottery will fund "gamblers anonymous" programs....
    Do you see how impractical things get when you run a country this way?

    Dispose of motor oil??? I just keep adding more to my car once every couple weeks... No disposal required.

    Here's a nifty idea... quit wrapping the fast food up! I mean, yeah it needs to be wrapped if you're getting it to-go, but if you're eating there at the "restaurant", there's abslutely no reason for them to wrap your food up. No wrappers, very little trash.

    Just don't run out of gas between 2AM and 8AM. Or before Noon on Sunday (or Sunday at all in some states).

    Seriously, though, alcohol is a lousy source of fuel compared to fuel cells. Highly flammable (well, okay, so is hydrogen :). Produces pollution (fuel cells only produce water as a byproduct). Still requires a noisy combustion engine. And it would drive the price of alcohol up, which is bad.

    So let me get this straight. The Senator thinks that me installing a security camera inside my house should be illegal. This is a good thing? How? What about businesses? 7-11 may be publicly accessible, but it certainly is private property. I can just see the conversation now...

    "Excuse me sir. I need your permission to videotape you."
    "No. Now give me all your money."

    Will the stupid laws never end?

    Well, if they should, they probably will. Others, like icewm, will find new owners because their time has not yet come, and the users of the software desire to keep it alive. I think this site embodies the heart of the GPL... Software doesn't need to die just because the owner no longer has time/interest to invest in the project.
