    That's still just a simple substitution cypher, which is dead easy for a computer to crack given a sizeable enough input. Besides, why would OCR fail if it is human readable?

    They openly mocked on their mailing lists the feature of being able to boot into the OS from a floppy drive... The FreeBSD developers CHOSE to not be popular.

    ... and here it is umpteen years later and NOBODY boots from a floppy. Sounds to me like they were just ahead of their time.

    Great! so all they have to do is strip the locale info before handing the data to their analysts. One bounce through an offshore relay should do the trick.

    It seems to me that if they directed the exhaust downward, rather than using it to drive a turbine to spin the rotors, they'd be ahead of the game. As it is, this seems like a glorified turboprop engine.

    What bothers me is that if this is a counter-rotating coaxial design, they why does it have a tail at all? Are we too used to seeing helicopters with tail booms that we can't imagine one without one?

    I was going to post something like this. It has less to do with the refresh rate of the monitor, and more to do with the refresh rate of the operator. Don't stare at the monitor all day. Your eyes weren't designed to be kept at a single focal distance for long periods of time.

    They've managed to find the money to put 24/7 manned surveillance around the embassy - millions of dollars worth. I find that hard to imagine that they would spend that much on one man just because they want to question him regarding a rape charge. I find it easier to believe they would spend that on protecting military or political secrets. So if that effort and expense isn't for the rape, and whatever it is for isn't being discussed, I suspect that the statutes of limitations will be - until the governments collapse.

    Death, taxes, bitcoin crash and gold crash.

    No paper trail. Duh.

    That only means that the IRS is permitted to estimate how much you made.

    It would seem to me that the current layout with its rows for the electron shells, and the columns for how many electrons are in the shell, would be of much more use. I'm not a chemist, but I don't see how a spiral layout would be "better" at pointing out relationships between the elements.

    How do you determine holding time? If I buy 3 this morning, sell 2, buy another 5 at noon, sell 11, buy 4, sell 2, buy 3, what have I held, and how long have I held it? Is it first in, last out, or first in, first out? Do I get a tax refund for the time I held a negative quantity?

    It's not a simple problem, and the solution is not going to be simple either.

    Whether you are being arrested or not, you have the right to remain silent, to an attorney, yada, yada, yada (It's been a while since I watched a cop show depicting the reading of the rights. Do they still show that?). Your rights are there for you to claim.

    This does not stop facial recognition but it does make it work less accurately. Major changes in beard style or glasses will not help a facial recognition systems accuracy.

    Yes, they will. As weaknesses in facial recognition systems get discovered, they will get patched. Soon it won't matter if you grow or shave your facial hair, whether you dye or bleach your skin, or whatever.

    And once news gets around of this incident, the same thing will start happening in Canada.

    What makes you think it isn't already here? I've heard of things going the other way. If you don't grease the palm of the inspector, an arrowhead might fall out of his pocket, and "Oh, look! We must be on sacred ground. Looks like you'll have to stop digging until we get the permits re-examined and squared away."

    XY = Male ... XX = Female

    What if you're mixed? There are XX males and XY females. XXY and XYY are also possible. Sometimes twins are conceived, but one absorbs the other. It's not quite as simple as you make it out to be.
