    "EV's with subsidies" is not a good thing for the environment." its multitude times better than Fossil Fuel subsidies that destroy the environment and have got us into this environmental mess
    "If EV's were more efficient overall than the cars already in use" - they are
    "they wouldn't need subsidies to appeal more to consumer opinion." - its new tech, all new stuff like this gets subsidies to help it into the market to such a point that the manufacturing costs come down - shame they didn't stop subsidising fossil fuel decades ago (and still haven't) when it became the major form of propulsion.

    "Catastrophic deceleration does" - that implies speed. If i had to be hit by a car, I think i'd prefer to be hit by a car doing 5 mph than a car doing 50 mph

    "The people preaching that slapping giant solar panels on good farmland are just idiots." depends what they farm, they can still have herds of livestock in those fields and get a 2 for 1 income from each field, plus free power for any farming equipment like milking sheds to cut costs.

" - how is it inefficient? having to replenish fossil fuel to burn all the time is inefficient, once a solar panel/wind turbine is up and connected to a battery of some kind (they are getting cheaper over the time), you are done except for a bit of maintenance now and again.

    Why shouldn't NK and Iran have nuclear? An overriding sense of perceived moral superiority over other nations with a different colour skin is not an answer. Trump and Putin aren't the most stable of leaders.

    you are being very polite about English - English is the most bastardised language in the world with rules that are not really rules and pronunciations that are inconsistent. I never realised that until i had a girlfriend who didn't speak English as her first langauge and trying to explain why things like "bough" and "tough" sound completely different

    Hopefully with the EU wanting Google to decouple their apps and let other manufacturers install their stuff instead, maybe we can get back some of the better Blackberry ecosystem. Blackberry seems to be one of the only providers that regularly applies system updates. Samsung seems a bit of a lottery for updates.

    you won't get any context on here, the myths and rants have been ongoing since version 0.1. seems everyone else and his dog seem to get on with systemd fine bar a few on here.

    if you don't point out the problems ahead, you do not plan to mitigate them. lots of people make the mistake of saying "they warned of us X and it never happened", they just don't realise people actually did things to make sure it didn't happen

  20. in a sense, so are fossil fuels - you keep needing to manually/mechanically adding fuel continuously to keep them burning.

    no, he's pointing out the chemicals used in PV production can be turned into being safe and usable compared to nuclear waste.
