i've had the same issues with my girlfriends machine. Microsoft Windows is a pox, i must get my girlfriend off Windows and onto Linux then i'll have total piece of mind.
Every time there was an update, the Window 10 update was also automatically ticked. I've been unticking before the installs take place but now i cannot remove the tick so i log off and close the lid so it doesn't update. I wonder when they'll stop me doing that.
Again we see the immaturity of the anti-systemd kids. - just fixed that for you, didn't bother with the rest of your cut and paste post because it just shows just how little you know.
"Yawn. Not *another* desktop environment. " - that implies you didn't know it was an existing DE, thats the research i mean, you knee-jerked a response at the headline.
Along with all the KDE4 trolls of that time, you obviously had reading and comprehension problems with the KDE 4.0 release. It was released as a development release for app coders to port their apps upto KDE4.
Some of the distros screwed up, not KDE.
i don't see any reference to subsidies/tax breaks etc given to the fossil fuel industry to keep their prices low. there is a reason why the fossil fuel industry donates to government coffers in a large way.
"When using the shell command without arguments (thus invoking the executed shell or command on the local host) it is similar in many ways to a su(1) session, but unlike su completely isolates the new session from the originating session, so that it shares no process or session properties, and is in a clean and well-defined state. It will be tracked in a new utmp, login, audit, security and keyring session, and will not inherit any environment variables or resource limits, among other properties." - from the documentation...
"Interestingly, the shroud of Turin isn't exactly mentioned in the Bible as being the lynchpin of the Christian faith." - correct, but it was used as "proof" jesus existed
Thats what i've never understood. the need for an electric van for the huge delivery market must be huge, as they are vans they could put larger batteries to get longer ranges in them as they are not so constrained on prettiness of the vehicle to hide the battery. Fast luxurious cars are made because of the "glamour status" gained, no-one will get glamorous coverage or kudos for developing a practical vehicle.
geez, you are really ungrateful. if it wasn't for RM and people like him, you wouldn't have free software or a decent open source model
its a matter of a pointless discussion as no-one (or very few) votes with their wallet and stops buying the latest shiny toy.
thanks. checked it again today and it now allows me to untick the box

perhaps you should do some research instead of relying on a headline otherwise it shows your ignorance.
no they won't. once they all get going we'll be able to travel the universe and go where no man has gone before

i guess it was too complicated for you to understand.

jeez, don't trust that racist xenophobic rag to get anything correct
"The Christian Old Testament was compiled and codified before the Jewish Bible." - can you provide a citation for that claim?
you haven't met many (or any) then
well, we are all part of gods plan..... :o)

i've never had a boot failure with systemd. Just as well you posted as AC with dreamt up anecdotes
you'd best use Slack with motif as your gui.
no, its regressed to 2 not 10.
" it sounds like machinectl breaks the audit trail that su has always supported" - how did you come to that conclusion? please point me to that.
